Ahn Hyo Seop, Kim Sejeong, Kim Min Kyu and Seol In Ah delightfully led the online drama presentation for the upcoming rom-com Business Proposal.
Prior to its premiere on February 28, the lead pairings of Business Proposal share a variety of their thoughts and experiences about the series.
Business Proposal follows the story of an office employee who arranges a blind date with her company’s CEO while pretending as her wealthy best friend.
Furthermore, Ahn Hyo Seop represents the perfect CEO Kang Tae-mu. He has outstanding looks, inherent wealth, and exceptional business skills. Meanwhile, Kim Sejeong plays Shin Ha-ri, who encounters the CEO of her company after going out to meet her friend instead of her.
Considering the intention of having the viewers witness the drama in a comfortable way, producer Park Seon Ho asserts that it blends a pleasant and vibrant plot with an alluring aspect that makes it entertaining to watch.
“The original was so popular that I saw it before it became a drama. It is a work that combines a cute and lively story with a sexy side.It was light and enjoyable to watch, so I thought the original could be a good foundation. In the process of making it into a work, it has been dramatized and reconstructed so that viewers can see it in a familiar and comfortable way. It was fun to direct.”
Stress-Free Script
Adorably desiring to demonstrate a lighter and more enjoyable side to viewers, Ahn Hyo Seop picked the rom-com genre for the purpose of his mental health. Since he had spent a lot of time and effort and gave a considerable measure of his emotions, the actor said that he loved reading the script without feeling stressed.
“For the sake of my mental health, I wanted to try a fun and entertaining script. I chose it because it was a romantic comedy. I’ve never shown a light and fun side to viewers before, so I really wanted to try a comedy. It was nice to work with great actors and the production team I liked. The fun of the small script came to me as attractive, so I decided as soon as I read it.”
Agreeing with him, Kim Sejeong similarly had the feeling of a lighthearted mood while reading the script.
“Isn’t the taste of knowledge scary? Without realizing it, I kept flipping over the script while hitting the pillow. She decided that she had to choose it because she thought she could have fun without feeling heavy. As it is a work that can show romance, it seemed like it would be a new challenge and attempt.”
Kim Min Kyu & Seol In Ah
Besides that, Kim Min Gyu depicts Cha Sung Hoon, Kang Tae-mu’s chief secretary. He possesses the kind and devoted demeanor of a golden retriever. He acknowledges his exhaustion with prior works and desires a piece that is easily observed.
“I think I was tired of myself because I mainly did heavy genres in my previous works. He really enjoyed reading the script. It’s rare these days to find works that can be viewed comfortably, but I thought it would be a work that I could comfortably watch for a long time. I wanted to show a new side of me, and my fellow actors, the director, the writer, and the script all matched perfectly.”
Knowing Shin Ha-ri, Seol In Ah illustrates Jin Young Seo. She is Ha-ri’s best friend and the only daughter of her chaebol family. She correspondingly professes to be a fan of the original work.
“She was my favorite Jin Young Seo in the webtoon, and she got an offer for her for the role, so she said, ‘I got my hair cut and I’m ready to play Young Seo. She’s a character like me. She is full of girl crush charm and is sincere in love. He is pure in love and strong in friendship. The synchronization rate is 90%. I’m shooting in a good mood.”
An Entertaining Rom-Com
When asked if he discovered something new while acting in the series, Ahn Hyo Seop conveys that he enjoys acting in the comedy genre as well as other parts that are intriguing.
“I chose it because it was a romantic comedy, and I wanted to show a comedy. There is also a romance with Ha-ri, but there are many other roles and interesting parts. It’s fun acting in a comedy, but I don’t know who sees it.”
Relaying his thoughts on his female lead, the actor asserts that he and Kim Sejeong had become acquainted with one another’s hard work reflected in their chemistry.
He subsequently notes that the actress provides him with positive energy through her smile and that he derives a great deal of strength from her.
“Sejeong has so many things to praise. She’s brighter than I imagined. And she always gives me positive energy with her smiling face, so I’m getting a lot of strength too. So I think there’s a lot of synergy. He is sincere and thoughtful and is the best as a partner.”
Correspondingly, Kim Sejeong admits that in the drama she sought to come to know and love Tae-mu.
“Ahn Hyo Seop always says, ‘Let’s be faithful to the present’ and ‘Let’s do our best in what is given’. There must be Taemu that he wants to show, and I also tried to get to know him and love him.”
Adding to that, she shares that Ahn Hyo Seop exhibits the transparency of a child, which she believes is a wonderful aspect.
“He’s very positive and the energy on set is really good. There is a boy deep in his heart. I think it’s important to live with that boy. He’s transparent and beautiful, so I think that’s a really good point.”
A Sweetly Conceived Chemistry
Talking about each other’s chemistry, Kim Min Kyu and Seol In Ah exhange their thoughts with sweet words about one another.

Embracing the challenge of a full-fledged romantic comedy with Business Proposal, Kim Sejeong believes that the most critical aspect of rom-com dramas is the actors’ enthusiasm and the way they deliver their performance through their eyes.
“I think it’s really important to see how sincere your loving eyes are. Above all, I think the most important thing in rom-com is energy. People who watch should feel the energy.”
Recalling her first encounter with Ahn Hyo Seop, Kim mentions that the actor was really timid and she really contemplated how to approach him.
“I was shy and thought a lot about how to approach him. I was worried that it might be uncomfortable if only me approached him, but he became so close that I can’t even remember my first impression.“
Notably, Kim Sejeong admits that the confrontation scene was filmed shortly after the drama’s first filming. She felt comfortable while shooting the scene since she could see Kang Tae-mu clearly in front of her.
Moreover, Ahn Hyo Seop conveys his impression to Kim Sejeong.
“I don’t like being forced to get to know each other, so I get to know each other over time. I thought she was bright, positive, and a pretty person. I got a lot of feeling that she was lovely.”
Giving A Concise Definition for Business Proposal
Finally, Ahn Hyo Seop imparts that it would be a therapeutic drama. He believes that people would mend and enjoy themselves while watching the drama.
“I hope it will be a healing drama. I hope that you can put down the worries of life and enjoy it comfortably. If you have a personal wish, I will be satisfied if there is a response like ‘Ahn Hyo Seop has this kind of side’ because I have tried the comedy part.”
On the other hand, Kim Sejeong characterizes it as a snack, implying that it should be consumed as such.
“I want it to feel like a snack. I hope it doesn’t feel burdensome and you can take it out and eat it yourself if you remember it. What I want to achieve through Business Proposal is that there was a girl in Sejeong’s heart. She showed a strong side, but in fact, there was a delicate girl inside.”
