So far, the lively vibe of promotion for SBS drama Cheer Up is really inducing smiles.
Cheer Up threads on the story of young people who assemble in the cheering squad with a brilliant history that is on the brink of disbandment. Against the backdrop of the 50-year-old college club of Yeonhee University, it is foretelling stories of young love and chasing dreams.
Additionally, the series is a collaboration between director Han Tae-seop, who co-directed Stove League, and writer Cha Hae-won, who wrote VIP.
Cheer Up is SBS’s first campus drama in 23 years since KAIST, thus, it is expected to create a fresh appeal in the network’s drama roster.
To headline the series are actors Han Ji Hyun, Bae In Hyuk, Kim Hyun Jin, Jang Gyu Ri, Lee Eun Sam and Yang Dong Geun.
Meet The Members of Theia Cheering Squad
First, Han Ji Hyun portrays Do Hae-yi, a new member of Yeonhee University’s cheering squad “Theia”. Hae-yi is a freshman in the 19th year of Theology department. Blessed with beautiful features, she is simple, cheerful and optimistic. Owing to her family’s financial situation, she also focuses on money.
Known for her striking impression in Penthouse, Han Ji Hyun is expected to show off the fresh energy of youth and acting skills that evoke empathy.
Next, Bae In-hyuk takes on the role of Park Jung-woo, the leader of Theia. Jung-woo always puts principles first. He left behind preparations for the exam and took on the role of cheerleader in the crisis of disbandment.
The actor has consistently showcased his versatility in various works including Why Her, At A Distance Spring is Green and My Roommate is a Gumiho.
Then, Kim Hyun Jin plays the role of Jin Seon-ho, also a new member of Theia. Born rich, he has a handsome appearance and is a medical student who took only elite courses.
Jang Gyu Ri transforms into Tae Cho-hee, the vice-leader of Theia. She is cool and pretty, with a popularity that attracts both men and women.
Meanwhile, Lee Eun Sam, who emerged as a rising star through Netflix’s All Of Us Are Dead, plays the role of Joo Sun-ja, another rookie member of Theia and Hae-yi’s best friend.
