Another youth-themed drama is currently in the works, which involves some of today’s most talented young actors – and it will grace K-Dramaland real soon!
Chou Ji Su, O Jae Woong, VICTON’s Jung Su Bin, Shin So Hyun, Bae Yu Jin and Kim Ah Yeong will play the lead roles for the new EBS drama called The Moment of Shining Hearts.
Taking the form of a media literacy educational drama, The Moment of Shining Hearts tells the story of a group of high school students who will fall in love amidst the growing influence of the digital world.
It will also show the deep struggles teenagers typically face nowadays through real and relatable stories, with hopes to educate and enlighten the members of youth thoroughly.
Through the guidance and amazing style of directors Son Yeeun and Shin Suji, the show will stick to a sympathetic tone for audiences to relate to and appreciate the drama even more. Being the mastermind behind all the themes the drama will tackle, Writer Gil Yoojung will surely add more color to it through the characters’ encounters and dialogues.
The drama is expected to leave a great impression and lesson to many while making teenagers realize that there is more to life than smartphones, the internet, social media, and computers. It will also deliver a significant message with regards to how important it is for young people to cultivate open and meaningful relationships with their friends and family.
MEET THE CAST OF THE MOMENT OF SHINING HEARTS
Portraying the role of Choi Bit Nara, a simple and innocent high school student with a background as a content creator, is Choi Ji Su. Bit Nara had a very traumatic experience with regards to the Internet world caused by her background as a mukbang YouTuber.
Determined to gain a fresh start, she decided to attend Dingdong High School yet her high hopes disappeared immediately as she became involved with Seo Junyeong, the most popular guy in school.
Oh Jae Woong suits up for the role of Seo Jun Yeong, who basically has it all — from intelligence to even good looks. He may seem like the perfect and ideal guy but behind his mask is a secret he does not want anyone to know about.
Acting as Bit-Nara’s best friend named Cha Seokjin, VICTON’s Jung Soo Bin took the challenge as a way to furnish his acting skills. Seokjin, who is overprotective of Bit-Na, will face a major dilemma about his feelings.
Meanwhile, Shin So Hyun is the one who will portray Han Cho Hyeon, a fashion influencer who boasts 120,000 followers on SNS. Extremely chic in all ways, she will have an unexpected confrontation with Bit-Nara.
For the role of Lee Seowoo, who is Bit-Nara’s childhood friend, Bae Yoojin has gladly accepted the offer. As an empathetic individual, he becomes the go-to person of most of his friends because of his incomparable ability to listen to the concerns of others well. The drama will show how he eventually learns to love himself just how much he loves others.
Lastly, Kim A Young takes the role of Park Ji Hye, another friend of Nara whose aura is as vibrant as the sun. As someone who is exposed to a lot of technology, he always knows what is happening around him.
A DRAMA TO ANTICIPATE
The production crew of The Moment of Shining Hearts stated, “The drama will show an era where the youth’s values are measured by SNS hearts, teenagers who believe that their existence shines brighter in the digital world, acknowledge themselves as they are in their relationships with their friends and achieve inner growth. Bit Nara will show the ideal youth growth. In addition, we want to realistically depict the real stories of teenagers living under the scary letters that cover the daily news society, such as ‘group chat room bullying’, ‘smartphone addiction’, and ‘digital sex crime’.”
The Moment of Shining Hearts will grace the small screens in the second half of 2021.
