Coupang Play’s series Cinderella at 2 AM has unveiled its first poster and teaser trailer.
Directed by Seo Min-jung and Bae Hee-young, with a screenplay by Oh Eun-ji and created by Park Joon-hwa, Cinderella at 2 AM is an office romantic comedy provided by Coupang Play and produced by Imagineers and Studio Aljja.
The series portrays the trials of Yoon-seo, a highly capable and realistic woman, as she attempts to break up with Joo-won, her perfect younger chaebol boyfriend who is wholly devoted to her.
The newly released poster showcases Yoon-seo (Shin Hyun Been) and Joo-won (Moon Sang Min) sitting in a pumpkin carriage with its magic broken at 2 AM, reflecting their divergent dreams. Yoon-seo, after discovering Joo-won is the youngest son of a chaebol family, opts for a realistic breakup. However, Joo-won is determined not to let her go.
The poster’s tagline, “Cinderella’s breakup with her fairy tale prince after the magic has been broken,” captures the thrilling dynamic between romance and separation.
The accompanying teaser trailer offers a glimpse into the series’ unique take on romance, breaking traditional clichés. Yoon-seo learns that her boyfriend of 18 months, Joo-won, is the youngest son of the major shareholder of her company. While she could embrace a Cinderella-like fate, she firmly declares, “I reject the idea of a prince riding a white horse.”
Yoon-seo’s confident decision to choose reality over a fairytale bursts forth with refreshing vigor, while Joo-won’s unexpected reaction adds to the excitement. When Yoon-seo announces the breakup, Joo-won clings to her, stating, “I’ll stick to you,” and declares, “I’ll show you how much I like you from now on.” His line, “Wanting to break up is my freedom, but hanging on is also my freedom,” sets the stage for an uncontrollable wave of excitement for viewers.
Cinderella at 2 AM, which promises an uncompromising breakup battle between the realistic Cinderella Yoon-seo and the devoted prince Joo-won, will air every Saturday and Sunday at 9 p.m. starting August 24.
