Premiering this September 22, KBS2’s Dali And The Cocky Prince excites fans with its recreation of iconic portrait paintings. Each character is also introduced with their photo stills and table reading images last August 16.
Directed by Lee Jung Sub, he is known for his artistically made series. He directed Angel’s Last Mission: Love, Queen For Seven Days, Healer, and more.
On the other hand, Writer Son Eun Hye shares her unique imagination and storytelling through the series. Her crafts include Witch’s Love, One Fine Day, and Love Story In Harvard.
Dali And The Cocky Prince connects contrasting souls through art galleries. The charismatic Park Gyu Young we know transforms into an artistically inclined and elegant Kim Dal Ri.
Furthermore, she becomes the director of Chungsong Art Museum and is articulate in seven languages.
Kim Min Jae paints on a new canvas as Jin Moo Hak. He runs his family’s business that started from gamja-tang (spicy pork backbone stew) restaurant to a global food corporation, DonDon F&B.
With his classy and professional look, it is hard to believe that Moo Hak used to rank last in his class.
Their colorful romance started when Jin Moo Hak tries to steal from Kim Dal Ri’s art museum.
Character Posters Into Famous Masterpieces
The recently dropped character posters of Dali And The Cocky Prince introduces a fresh concept in drama. Each actor’s transformation also says a lot about their role in the series.
First on the gallery is Kim Min Jae as René Magritte’s Son Of Man painting. With his passion for making money, he shows it by wearing a neat suit and a fedora.
They add more fun to the portrait by adding a potato above the actor’s head. Their family’s signature dish, Gamja-tang, needs to have a potato – explaining why Min Jae has a potato.
Second, Park Gyu Young poses as Johannes Vermeer’s Girl With A Pearl Earring. The actress perfectly expresses elegance and sets a vintage atmosphere.
Transforming as a rich medieval nobility is actor Kwon Yool. He will play Jang Tae Jin, an executive director who has everything.
As a person who also appreciates and understands art, he shares a special bond with Dal Ri and shows his affection for her.
Next is Yeonwoo as Leonardo da Vinci’s modern Woman with Gallstones. Setting a luxurious ambiance, she holds an adorable puppy that adds warmth.
Furthermore, she portrays the National Assembly member’s daughter, Ahn Chak Hee.
Taking the fifth spot is actor Hwang Hee as a classic and modern detective. He is also Dal Ri’s friend and a homicide investigator.
Lastly, actress Hwang Bora comically transforms as Edvard Munch’s The Scream piece. In addition, her character as Moo Hak’s secretary, Yeo Mi Ri, heightens expectations on how she will manage with Moo Hak’s foolishness.
“Dali And The Cocky Prince presented character posters with a parody of classic masterpieces as artworks. It will bring beautiful attractions, heart-throbbing romance, and a burst of laughter to the main room,” the production team stated.
Kim Min Jae And Park Gyu Young Time-Stopping Photo Stills
KBS2 again dropped intriguing stills of the Money-For-Money and Born-To-Rain-Precious” couple.
Kim Min Jae is seen dressed up in a printed white and black tuxedo. He arrived at the airport with a serious expression while searching for his name among the crowd.
Waiting for him is Park Gyu Young who stood out with her elegant aura. She wears a blue lace dress and a black feather headpiece.
Even with her short hair, the actress was able to communicate a luxurious character. Furthermore, she holds a sign with a “Welcome Mr. Jin” printed on it.
They then locked their eyes together and froze to their place when they found the person they await.
In addition, the production team also promises that the couple will have a “dream-like first meeting” we all should look out for.
