Yoon Chan Young is set to make the wishes of the ghosts come true in Genie TV’s Delivery Man!
Slated for a March broadcast, Delivery Man follows the story of a taxi driver who drives ghosts as his customers. He chances upon Ji-hyun a wandering soul who lost her memories. Anticipation is expected on what kind of special guests will take a ride to the strange ghost taxi.
Delivery Man reunites directors Kang Sol and Park Dae Hee and writers Park Hye-young, and Han Bo-kyung who worked together in Show Window: The Queen’s House. Writer Joo Hyo-jin also joins the creative team.
In the drama, Yoon Chan Young plays the role of Seo Young-min a taxi driver who makes a living by stepping on the full accelerator whenever the taxi fare is resolved. The reason he needs money so much is to keep his grandmother and the house he lives in.
He started the business of an unheard-of “Ghost Taxi” and works as a delivery man who solves the wishes of special customers.
Accordingly, the released preview photos of Young-min’s dynamic daily life in the published photos stimulate curiosity.
His firm expression in a taxi with a gloomy vibe suggests that an unusual incident has occurred. Young-min’s life changes 180 degrees thanks to Kang Ji-hyun’s free ride, a ghost suffering amnesia.
In the previously released teaser trailer, the two delight with how they connected through the “ghost taxi”. Initially, Young-min was scared enough to hide behind a tree to avoid ghosts in broad daylight, but he becomes a ‘delivery man’ who fulfills the wishes of ghost passengers with his bravery and dauntless investigative skills.
Correspondingly, expectations are focused on his sweet and fierce collaboration with Kang Ji-hyun, a soul that cannot be separated from Young-min’s taxi.
On Challenging His Latest Character
Describing his latest character, Yoon Chan Young expressed fondness for Young-min.
“He is a person who puts off the things he wanted to do and devotes himself to his family. He may seem stingy on the outside, but he is a warm person who always thinks of others. Also, he overcomes various situations and makes up for what he is lacking. It is a character that grows and develops.”
With respect to the profession of taxi drivers, Yoon also asserts drawing the job that is special but seems ordinary. He also shared how he studied his character.
“I asked the drivers about my questions on the way, and they answered kindly every time. It made it easier to understand the system. I had a lot of worries and felt a sense of responsibility while living as Seo Young-min. However, it seems that thrilling and pleasant tension is always a good feeling. I hope that I can vividly convey the special adventure with ghosts to viewers.”
Genie TV’s original series Delivery Man will be released for the first time on March 1 through Genie TV, ENA, and TVing.
