Gravitating to the character of Kang Ki Young In Extraordinary Attorney Woo is expected!
His charm as lawyer Jung Myung-seok grows every episode and his interaction with fellow cast members fortifies the already engaging series.
Initially, he had reservations about the new lawyer Woo Young-woo who has autism. But learning from her strange but sensible perspective, his prejudice vanished.
Graciously breaking his preconceived bias, he acknowledged Young-woo’s ability in resolving concerns that ordinary lawyers would find difficult.
From there, the senior-junior work relationship between them continues to prosper. In the 3rd episode, they had to deal with a case that involves an autistic person distinctly different from Young-woo.
Aside from being her mentor, he suits up as a strong shield for Young-woo blocking criticisms and advertent attacks on her mental disorder in the courtroom.
Additionally, he chooses to stay by Young-woo’s side when they had to endorse the case to another lawyer.
Subsequently, he made another memorable scene as a senior at work. When lawyer Kwon Min-woo questions whether Young-woo will not be penalized for missing days at work because of her autism.
Lawyer Jung acknowledged where Min-woo is coming from. He gives a pep talk to focus on learning together as workmates. With that, he plays the role of a compass that corrects distorted perceptions of his junior lawyers.
Impressively, Kang Ki Young makes his character’s presence clear by expressing an ideal work mentor. His gaze, voice tone, reactions and even witty adlibs are sprinkled to help with the storytelling.
With a clever countenance and neat appearance, he captures viewers’ attention effortlessly. It further raises excitement for more of his future endeavors as an actor with myriad character manifestations.
