“Face Me” Share More Details On Lead Stars Lee Min Ki and Han Ji Hyun

Get to know more about the main characters in upcoming KBS series, Face Me.

Face Me is an upcoming medical drama premiering in November, centered on a skilled plastic surgeon and a passionate detective from the violent crimes unit who work together to uncover the truth behind crimes using reconstructive surgery.

The series offers unique and captivating blend of crime, medicine, and emotional depth.

In the drama, Lee Min Ki  plays Cha Jung-woo, a brilliant plastic surgeon known for his expertise in anatomy, quick decision-making, and boldness. Jung-woo is a cold and emotionally detached character who avoids personal connections with his patients, a behavior rooted in his painful past and deep emotional scars.

Lee explains that the unique role of a plastic surgeon intrigued him, particularly the way various episodes unfold through reconstructive surgery on crime victims. He was drawn to the complexity of the character and how his past trauma influenced his distant nature. Lee mentioned a key line from a co-star, “It seems like he’s decided not to be happy,” as capturing the essence of Jung-woo’s inner struggles.

To prepare for the role, Lee invested significant time and effort in learning surgical techniques, as the character performs multiple operations throughout the drama. He emphasized that he worked hard to portray the role authentically, particularly in the surgery scenes.

He also reveals that he resonated with Cha Jung-woo’s emotional detachment, noting that he sometimes struggles with emotional communication, making him feel a connection to the character. He highlighted a memorable scene from the first episode, where Jung-woo tells a victim of dating violence, “Change is something you do on your own,” which he sees as a metaphor for Jung-woo’s own journey.

Meanwhile, Han Ji Hyun portrays Lee Min-hyung, a determined and energetic detective with a warm, upbeat personality. Recently released stills highlight Han’s ability to fully inhabit the character, effortlessly pulling off a leather jacket and sneakers as part of Min-hyung’s casual style. Audiences are eager to see his bold acting and how he brings this unique role to life.

Han’s character is also shown wearing a police uniform, exuding both dedication and competitive drive as a top graduate of the police academy. Her strong will, along with a mix of humor—such as enjoying chocolates gifted by his juniors after an arrest—creates a new portrayal of a modern detective with depth and relatability.

Furthermore, Han showcases a striking duality: while she appears innocent and cool, he also takes on undercover missions in a powerful black dress, blending both charisma and vulnerability. Viewers can expect a wide range of traits, from Lee Min-hyung’s confident and bold attitude to his visually appealing yet complex persona.

Face Me is expected to draw significant attention and intrigue from viewers, offering a dynamic and colorful storyline that will keep audiences engaged. The series premieres on November 9.
