KBS 2TV’s new Monday-Tuesday drama Fantasy Sonata, is scheduled to be broadcast in January next year.
Based on a webtoon of the same name, Fantasy Sonata blends fantasy, history, drama and romance as it traverses the story of a man with two conflicting personalities and the woman who loves him in a refreshing affection and fierce obsession.
In Fantasy Sonata, Yeonwol (Hong Ye Ji) hides her identity and becomes an assassin to avenge her family. While trying to assassinate the king, she falls into a trap set by someone and wakes up the next day with no memory of her life. Thereafter, she is appointed as the crown prince’s concubine.
The crown prince, who has two completely opposite personalities, deals with her, revealing his different ways of anger and love towards her.
Fantasy Sonata foreshadows the turbulent and heartbreaking story of a prince with two personalities and a concubine who is faced with an inevitable choice.
“Fantasy Sonata” Introduces Intriguing Character of Park Jihoon
Previously, character stills of Park Jihoon and Hong Ye Ji were unveiled giving glimpses into their respective roles.
Subsequently, in the released poster, Park Jihoon and Hong Yeji attract attention as they stand on a bridge facing each other. Floating flower petals, soft moonlight, and the vague silhouettes of a man and a woman reflected in the water complete the beautiful visual, reminiscent of a painting.
Here, the meaningful phrase ‘Did you erase my memory?’ in the poster hints at the sad narrative of two people who will be tangled by a twist of fate and memory loss, raising expectations for the chemistry to be shown in the future.
Fantasy Sonata is scheduled for January 2024 airing following The Matchmakers.
