The Coupang Play series Family Planning unveils captured moments at a recent table-read.
Family Planning is a story about people with special abilities who disguise themselves as family members to survive and use unique methods to overcome the vicious criminals who threaten them.
At the script reading site, the creators Kim Jung-min, Kim Gok, and director Kim Sun, and lead actors Bae Doona, Ryoo Seung Bum, Baek Yun Sik, Lomon, and Lee Soo Hyun all gathered together to share their love and passion for the work.
As the script reading began in a friendly atmosphere, each actor instantly immersed himself in his character and showed brilliant chemistry from the first meeting.
Bae Doona, who plays the role of Han Young-soo, a mother who possesses special abilities and is at least kind to her children, said, “I waited for a very long time because the script was so interesting. I was excited and nervous even before reading the script because actors I really like and respect were joining the team.”
Ryoo Seung Bum, who plays the role of Baek Cheol-hee, a father who hides his abilities and is somewhat timid, but who loves his wife infinitely, strengthened his resolve by saying, “I am determined to do my best to make this work successful.”
Baek Yoon-sik, who plays the role of Baek Kang-seong, a grumpy but caring grandfather who cares deeply for his family, also shared his thoughts, saying, “I felt a lot of things through reading. I ask for your interest.”
Here, Lomon, who plays the role of Baek Ji-hoon, the warm and gentle son, expressed his attitude towards the work, saying, “It was an honor just to be in the same place with great seniors.“ Lee Soo Hyun, who is trying her hand at acting for the first time as Ji-hoon’s prickly and sensitive daughter Baek Ji-woo, said, “I was half excited and half worried. It was an honor to be able to work with great seniors.”
Meanwhile, Family Planning began filming at the end of December 2023, and is scheduled to be released on Coupang Play in 2024.
