JTBC’s highly anticipated drama, Good Boy, has unveiled a powerhouse cast that promises an action-packed and thrilling ride.
Good Boy (directed by Shim Na-yeon, written by Lee Dae-il, and produced by SLL, Studio & New, and Drama House Studio) is a comic action investigative drama about medalists who become police officers through special recruitment. They fight against a world rife with unscrupulousness and foul play, swapping their medals for police ID cards.
The drama is brought to life by director Shim Na-yeon, known for Monster and Bad Mom,’and writer Lee Dae-il, who has penned works like Life on Mars and Chief of Staff.
The impressive cast lineup itself promises an ambitious and exciting JTBC production.
Park Bo Gum stars as Yoon Dong-ju, a former special forces officer turned police officer after winning a gold medal in boxing. Dong-ju, living a second life as a police officer after a significant incident, awakens his fighter instinct in a world full of corruption, diving into justice without hesitation. This role marks a gritty and intense transformation for Park Bo Gum, known as one of Korea’s top flawless star actors.
Kim So Hyun plays Ji Han-na, a former shooting gold medalist and special forces sergeant. Known as the ‘shooting goddess’ during her athletic career, Han-na transitions to a police officer, aiming her gun at villains instead of targets. Kim So Hyun is set to captivate viewers with her bold and fierce portrayal.
Oh Jung Se takes on the role of Min Joo-young, a 7th-grade civil servant at the Korea Customs Service who hides a dark side behind his diligent exterior. By day, he appears as a sincere civil servant, but by night, he becomes a shadowy figure dominating Inseong City. Oh Jung Se, known for his compelling villain roles, is expected to deliver another memorable performance.
Lee Sang Yi portrays Kim Jong-hyun, a former fencing silver medalist who becomes a special force detective after an injury. With sharp intellect and brilliant swordsmanship, Jong-hyun uses a three-section baton as his weapon of choice. Lee Sang-yi’s versatile acting skills are anticipated to leave a strong impression.
Heo Sung Tae plays Go Man-sik, a bronze medalist in wrestling and the leader of the Violent Crimes Special Forces Team.
