EXO’s Xiumin To Lead EXO’s Time-Traveling Culinary Rom-Com, “Heo’s Restaurant”

EXO’s Xiumin is set to star in the upcoming fantasy rom-com drama, Heo’s Restaurant, portraying a brilliant Joseon Dynasty figure known for his writing and artistic flair – basically, a Joseon-era influencer.

This culinary genius is also known as the first food columnist of his time. After being wrongly accused of treason along with his friends, Heo Gyun finds himself 400 years into the future, where he unexpectedly opens a restaurant.

Joining Xiumin in the lead cast of Heo’s Restaurant are Choo So Jung, Lee Se On, and Lee Soo Min. This drama is also based on a web novel of the same name.

Meet the Characters

Xiumin‘s character, Heo Gyun, is renowned for his enigmatic writing skills and impeccable taste, being the Joseon Dynasty’s inaugural food columnist. Following unjust accusations against his friends, he finds himself in exile and inadvertently slips into the present day. There, he crosses paths with Bong Eun-sil, the determined daughter of a modest restaurant owner, sparking an unpredictable culinary journey.

Choo So Jung portrays Bong Eun-sil, known for her unwavering integrity and outspoken nature. When she encounters the seemingly homeless Heo Gyun, their clash sets the stage for an intriguing dynamic that transcends time. The drama promises a blend of historical and modern narratives, enhanced by Xiumin’s charismatic portrayal.

Lee Se On takes on double duty, portraying both the ambitious Lee I-cheom from the Joseon era and the modern-day culinary prodigy, Lee Hyuk.

Lee Soo Min also tackles dual roles, playing the beautiful and talented Maechang from the past and the experienced-yet-secretive child actress Jung Mi-sol in the present.

Both Lee Se-on and Lee Soo-min will be flitting between past and present, adding another layer of intrigue to the story.

The production team is thrilled with their cast, promising a dynamic story filled with unexpected twists and turns. They’re especially excited about the romance between Xiumin and Choo So-jung, and they’re confident that the drama will be a feast for the eyes and the taste buds.

Heo’s Restaurant premieres on Netflix on March 24, with new episodes every Monday and Tuesday at 5 PM. It will also be available on Wavve in the future.
