Following her previous drama Cheat On Me If You Can, award-winning actress Cho Yeo Jeong is returning to the small screen with another remarkable project, High Class.
High Class is a mystery-suspense drama that takes place in a luxurious international school located on an island paradise. It depicts the stories and mysteries hidden behind the lavish life of wealthy individuals who live in 0.1% of the society.
Helmed by Director Choi Byung Gil (East of Eden, Angry Mom, Missing 9), the drama is scheduled to premiere on September 6. It will take the Monday-Tuesday slot of tvN.
Cho Yeo Jeong portrays the role of Song Yeo Wool, a successful lawyer who is accused of her husband’s murder and loses everything overnight. To protect her eight-year-old son from a dreadful life that awaits them, she signs him up into an international school. However, as the bad rumors spread among other mothers, they instantly became the center of attention.
In the newly released stills, Song Yeo Wool manifests her intellectual charms, with eyes that are cool and full of professionalism. Giving a glimpse into her passionate work life as an ace lawyer, plaques and books were neatly arranged on a bookshelf behind her back.
Apart from her stern and serious demeanor, she is also a devoted mother to her eight-year-old son. While around her child, her eyes are warm and gentle, and she always smiles affectionately at him.
As she faces heavy criticisms after her husband’s death, she will have no choice but to move into a different place with her son.
The mystery begins when Song Yeo Wool meets the mother of her son’s classmate, the woman her husband had an affair with before he was murdered.
Kim Ji Soo takes on the role of Nam Ji Sun who is born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Known as the “queen bee” among mothers at the international school, she is also the representative of the parents’ association.
Although she always has a relaxed and elegant smile, she will go through deceitful means in order to look like she has a perfect family. Infusing tension throughout the story, she had all the mothers wrapped around her fingers.
In the newly released drama stills, Nam Ji Sun portrays her two different sides. In front of the other mothers, she radiates her classy aura and elegant smile. While her natural dignity shows up from her appearance, she doesn’t lose her smile while listening to the opposing side.
However, when she’s at home, she is the cold and perfectionist kind of mother who doesn’t allow her children to be less than perfect. She is an authoritarian who desires full control of everything.
Released on August 6, the first video teaser shows Song Yeo Wool remembering her blissful life with her husband Ahn Ji Yong (Kim Nam Hee) and son.
While the next scene shows her sitting alone in a canoe with the backdrop of a black river, her eyes were full of sorrow and agony.
As the screen goes black, she says in voice-over, “The bare face of my once-perfect life. I’ve already become a woman who killed my husband.”
The clip ends with Song Yeo Wool coming across a shocking sight as her family photo drifts away.
High Class will premiere on September 6 at 10:30 p.m. KST. Global fans can watch it on iQiyi.
