JTBC’s new drama I’m Not a Hero reveals the recent table read. Expectations are focused on the meeting of the actors who will portray the story of a family that is special and therefore more ordinary.
I’m Not a Hero is a fantasy romance about a man with extraordinary abilities who cannot save anyone. It is also a story of a family with superpowers who have lost their rare abilities due to a chronic disease common to modern people and a woman who becomes intertwined as if by chance with them.
Director Cho Hyun-tak, who was recognized for his directing skills with SKY Castle, takes the lead, and writer Joo Hwa-mi, who showed storytelling that stimulates empathy through Marriage, Not Dating, pens the script. Here, writer Kang Eun-kyung, who receives absolute trust from the public for works such as Dr. Romantic, participates as a creator and improves her level of perfection.
At the script reading held on this day, director Cho Hyun-tak, writer Joo Hwa-mi, and actors including Jang KiYong, Chun Woo Hee, Go Doo Shim, Suhyeon, Oh Man Seok, and Park SoYi gathered together. The passionate performances of the actors, who brought life to the characters with their vibrant charm and fresh settings, captured attention from the beginning, completing a ‘real family-like chemistry.
Jang Ki Yong, plays Bok Gwi-joo, a man with a ‘time slip’ superpower who lost his ability due to depression. This will be Jang Ki Yong’s comeback drama after being discharged from the military. He flexibly depicts the life of a helpless character who has lost both happiness and ability to the change he undergoes when he meets the suspicious woman raising curiosity about the birth of a unique hero.
Next, Chun Woo Hee gives a passionate performance as Do Da-hae, a suspicious woman who appears in front of a family with unique superpowers. Having earned the nickname ‘A Thousand Faces’ through numerous works, she has undoubtedly proven his excellent character digestion skills. In addition, her chemistry with Gwi-joo and the Bok family, who were intertwined by fate as if by coincidence, also added to anticipation.
Seasoned actress Go Doo Shim showed off her unrivaled acting skills by transforming into Bok Man-heum, a powerhouse of the Bok family and an insomniac with ‘precognitive dreaming’ ability.
Claudia Kim portrays Bok Dong-hee, the older sister of Gwi-joo who possesses flight ability. Oh Man Seok brings to life Eom Soon-gu, the only normal person in the Bok family also housekeeping father.
