Revealing why he chose Forecasting Love and Weather as his latest project, Song Kang deems it can solidify his “romance king” presence.
Indeed, the actor has been decorating his acting portfolio with impressive works. Proving the extent of his range as an artist, Song Kang has impressed in his recent roles such as Nevertheless, Navillera, Sweet Home and Love Alarm. All of these, he has achieved in the last three years.
For his next project, he challenges workplace romance drama opposite lauded actress Park Min Young. In the backdrop of weather forecasting in South Korea, he suits up to the role of Lee Si-woo.
His character works as a special reporting officer in division 2 of the Korea Meteorological Administration. He is a person who has to predict more quickly than anyone else about the factors that may be concerned about disasters caused by various weather phenomena and the safety of citizens.
Song Kang confidently picked two reasons for choosing Forecasting Love and Weather.
“It’s just the material and the script. I liked the fresh subject matter of the Korea Meteorological Administration. I didn’t notice the time as it made me laugh while reading the script.”
Putting forward his character’s charm, Song Kang introduced him as bright and optimistic with infectious pleasant energy.
“He’s pure and has a refreshing feeling. But when it comes to the weather, he is more sincere and serious than anyone else.”
On Preparing for His New Role
When asked about his preparations for Lee Si-woo, he confessed the struggles and efforts he poured. He also cut his hair short to embody the bright energy of his character.
“I looked for documentaries related to the weather, and I studied a lot because there were a lot of technical terms I had never encountered before.”
Undeniably, the office romance story in Forecasting Love and Weather is one of the drawing points for anticipating viewers.
Teasing fans with a glimpse of what to expect in the love story with Park Min Young, he remarked gifting his supporters with unpredictable romance that he has not yet shown from his previous works.
Conveying he was nervous for his first workplace drama, Song Kang shared he researched immensely with the viewers in mind. He wants to present a drama that the audience would feel comfortable with.
