To be helmed by acclaimed director Lee Soo Yeon of Stranger series fame; the series also stars Lee Hee Jun, Lee Moo Saeng and Park Ji Yeon.
지배종 Dominant Species (LT) depicts the story of a new age of artificially cultured meat. It explores a world where food is eaten as a pill. It is produced by Ace Factory, which has been working with writer Lee Soo-yeon.
A fictional biotech company spearheading and dominating the cultured meat market set a food consumption trend.
BF, the biotech company, shows rapid growth. With that, people are starting to question BF CEO’s actions, inside and outside.
In the drama, Ju Ji Hoon (Kingdom) plays Woo Chae-woon, the person who discovers the truth about the “dominant species”. He is a bodyguard and a former soldier who graduated from Naval Academy.
Meanwhile, Han Hyo Joo (Happiness) takes on the role of Yoon Cha-yu, the founder and CEO of BF Group, a cell culture meat company that forms the central axis of the story.
Next, Lee Hee Jun (Mouse), who is praised for his variation of characters portrays Prime Minister Seon Woo-jae.
Then, Lee Moo Saeng (Thirty Nine) will appear as Onsan, a founding member of the BF group and in charge of culture medium technology.
Rounding up the remarkable cast is Park Ji Yeon (A Model Family) suiting up as Jung Hae-don, a lawyer and the head of the planning team of BF group.
Dominant Species begins production in earnest in the second half of 2022.
