Boasting an impeccable lineup of actors Bae Suzy, Nam Joo Hyuk, Kim Seon Ho and Kang Han Na, Start-Up tells the story of four young professionals who are all eager to prove their worth in the cutthroat world of start-up business industry.
Plot Sketch
Exploring the world of Start-Up, the fresh material tackles an interesting narrative in the four perspectives of its lead cast. The focus on start-up companies which have been laying efficient groundworks on innovative technologies and ideas will be at the center stage.
Its concept is not usually featured in K-Drama series, but it can easily be found in our daily lives such as mobile phone applications and mobile platforms. Thus, this new series will be relatable as viewers experience it in real life.
Main Characters
Playing the role of Seo Dal-mi who dreams of becoming Korea’s Steve Jobs is the beautiful Bae Suzy. Dal-mi doesn’t have a fancy background but she’s passionate about her work. She has bright energy and is a person of great vitality, having experienced a wide range of part-time jobs before.
Nam Joo Hyuk’s character Nam Do-san is the founder of Samsan Tech. A ‘math genius’ as a young boy, Do-san was once the pride of his family but became their shame now, as his business has been going down for the past two years. Finding out that Dal-mi mistakenly remembers him as her first love, he decides to work his way up in hopes of turning that misunderstanding into reality.
Suiting up as Han Ji-pyeong, a senior investment manager at a venture capital company is talented actor Kim Seon Ho. His astonishing investment skills and sharp tongue earn him the nickname, “the Gordon Ramsay of investments.”
Lastly, Won In-jae, played by Kang Han Na, is a second-generation chaebol CEO who has everything people desire – good education, beauty and money. But her background seems to be working against her in the startup world, as she struggles to create success on her own and be acknowledged for her skills.

Produced by Studio Dragon, Start-Up is directed by Oh Choong-hwan (Hotel del Luna, Doctors). It is written by popular writer Park Hye-ryun (Dream High, I Can Hear Your Voice, Pinocchio,).
Notably, this will be a reunion series of Bae Suzy to the writer-PD tandem with whom she worked with in While You Were Sleeping.
