The new ENA coming-of-age series goes for a ruminative story that teaches patience in claiming one’s dream.
Like Flowers in Sand traipses on the youth romance that unfolds when Kim Baek-du (Jang Dong Yoon), a wrestling prodigy and Oh Yoo-kyung (Lee Joo Myung), a small-town leader, meet again.
The story of young people struggling to make flowers bloom on the sand against the background of a wrestling city aims to provide pleasant excitement and warm emotions.
Jang Dong Yoon, Lee Joo Myung, Yoon Jong Seok, Kim Bo Ra, Lee Jae Jun, and Lee Joo Sung share a dazzling moment of youth in this upcoming youth series.
Subsequently, two posters were released by the production team showing the lead stars and supporting cast members.
The main poster released by the production team attracts attention with Kim Baek-du and Oh Yu-kyung lying side by side on a warm wrestling board bathed in sunlight. The name engraved on the sand brings back memories of childhood when it was fun just to be together.
Also interesting is the text on the poster: “There are flowers that bloom slowly in the world,”. This adds to the fresh smiles of the six young people in the other main poster. How will the growth and sweet romance of young people in full bloom be depicted even amid an uneasy reality?
Rewriting Life Can Never Be Too Late
In the drama, Kim Baek-du, a national-level athlete who belongs to the Geosan County Office Ssireum team, which is on the verge of disbandment, meets Oh Yu-kyung and meets a turning point in his wrestling life when he is on the brink of retirement.
Oh Yu-kyung, who came to Geosan as the head of the management team for the Geosan County Office Ssireum team, meets Kim Baek-du, who has a clean exterior but is somewhat sloppy, and continues an unexpected relationship. Attention is focused on how two people who remember their brightest days reunite and blossom on the threshold of frustration when nothing goes as planned.
Min Hyun-wook (Yoon Jong Seok), a ‘boy to the core’ who appeared in Geosan around the same time as Oh Yoo-kyung and adapted to the Geosan market surprisingly quickly; the mysterious cafe owner Joo Mi-ran (Kim Bo Ra); Kim Baek-du’s long-time rival and best friend Kwak Jin-su (Lee Jae Jun) decorate the exciting cast of the series.
The dynamic story of young people who begin to strike back at the world raises curiosity.
The production team assures an encouraging message Like Flowers That Bloom In Sand brings.
“Friends who spent the brightest and happiest times together reunite after 20 years and rewrite a page of their dazzling youth. The delightful struggle and heart-pounding romance of young people trying to grow a new crop in a dry land will provide warm excitement and fun.”
Like Flowers In Sand will premiere on December 20th at 9 PM.
