Previously, a highlight video containing the grand story of Love Song For Illusion was released, making prospective drama fans excited before the first broadcast.
The series foreshadows the turbulent and heartbreaking story of a prince with two personalities and a concubine who is faced with an inevitable choice.
Based on a webtoon of the same name, Love Song for Illusion blends fantasy, history, drama and romance as it traverses the story of a man with two conflicting personalities and a woman who loves him with a refreshing affection and fierce obsession.
In Love Song for Illusion, Yeonwol (Hong Ye Ji) hides her identity and becomes an assassin to avenge her family. While trying to assassinate the king, she falls into a trap set by someone and wakes up the next day with no memory of her life. Thereafter, she is appointed as the crown prince’s concubine.
The crown prince, who has two opposite personalities, deals with her, revealing his different ways of anger and love towards her.

“Fantasy Sonata” Introduces Intriguing Character of Park Jihoon
Following the introductions of the main leads, the drama peeks at the intense power struggle between brothers Sajo Hyun and Sajo Yung over the throne.
First, Sajo Hyun (Park Jihoon) is a person who has not yet healed from the wounds he received from his oppressive father when he was young. Possessing a beautiful appearance and a brilliant mind, he leads a double life unbefitting a prince of a country. He hides his identity and works as a fashion designer in a low-street clothing store.
Meanwhile, Sajo Yung (Hwang Hee) is the king’s illegitimate son and the half-brother of Sajo Hyun’. Although he has a personality that is praised within the palace, he is a duplicitous person who hides a darker ambition than anyone else.
In this way, one wonders what kind of fateful battle the two brothers, each with their secrets, will engage in for the throne of the Assassination Kingdom.
Director Lee Jung-sub, who is in charge of directing, relays how all characters in the story have their dual sides.
“As I had faith in Park Jihoon that he would play two two-faced characters well, I also had faith in Hwang Hee that he would make the character ‘Sajo Yung’ into an attractive villain.”
Love Song for Illusion is scheduled for January 2, 2024, airing following The Matchmakers.
