Rounding up the lead cast presentation for Cafe Minamdang are character teasers highlighting Kwak Si Yang and Kang Mina.
Cafe Minamdang, affirms a mystery and comical narrative starring Seo In Guk and Oh Yeon Seo. Leading the series are Director Go Jae Hyun (Black) and Writer Park Hye Jin (The Emperor: Owner of the Mask).
The latest series from KBS2 follows the investigation of a former detective turned shaman, Nam Han-jun (Seo In Guk), in a café named Minamdang. Oh Yeon Seo plays the character of Detective Han Jae Hee who has been working with the violent crimes unit for three years.
In addition, the series is based on its web novel, written by Jeong Ja Han. Minamdang: Case Note received love and applause after bagging the grand prize at the Kakao Page mobile novel contest.
Orienting viewers to the second leads, the production team provided glimpses of the characters to be portrayed by Kwak Si Yang and Kang Mina.
Kwak Si Yang as Gong Su-chul
Challenging the role of a handsome cafe barista by day and detective at night, Kwak takes on the role of Gong Su-chul. Owning a sensuous manly charm, he fights for justice with Nam Han-jun.
As seen in the stills released by the production team, Kwak Si Yang sports opposing temperaments. Neatly dresses, he brews coffee like a pro. He is immersed in his work with his sophisticated charisma.
Then, he takes a 180-degree turn with his bright smile. Wearing a purple padded jacket and short bangs, his double life as a barista and a detective would surely pique the viewers’ interest.
Kang Mi Na as Nam Hye-jun
Bold and free-spirited, Hye-jun is a genius hacker who was selected as a special agent for the National Intelligence Service. However, she is reckless enough to resign and become a professional gamer. Expectations are high as to what sibling interactions she will have with Nam Han-jun.
Her character stills evoke her youthful and mischievous vibe. She also shows off her professional charisma with her glasses on while her gaze is fixed on her laptop.
Cafe Minamdang premieres in June on KBS2 TV following Bloody Heart.
