JTBC’s upcoming Friday drama My Youth has unveiled fresh stills of Chun Woo Hee as Seong Je-yeon—a woman whose life takes an unexpected turn after reuniting with her first love, Seon Woo-hae (Song Joong Ki).
Penned by Park Si-hyun and co-directed by Lee Sang-yeop and Go Hye-jin, My Youth follows the emotional romance between two people who reconnect years later. For Je-yeon, Woo-hae once brought light to the shadows of her teenage years, and meeting him again awakens long-buried feelings. Their story promises warmth, laughter, and a bittersweet exploration of what it means to rediscover oneself through love.
Seong Je-yeon isn’t your typical romantic lead—she’s a driven management team leader who once followed a rigid “model student” path where exams were everything. Now, she’s a work-focused “bulldozer,” never without her phone, sharp in her observations, yet deeply caring toward those around her—especially actress Mo Tae-rin (Lee Joo Myung), whose script troubles Je-yeon listens to with patient attention.
For the 19-year-old Je-yeon, Woo-hae was a sanctuary from her rule-bound world. Seeing him again as an adult rekindles the brightness he once brought to her life, a change reflected in her newly softened smile.
Speaking about the drama, Chun Woo Hee described My Youth as “a charming piece that blends love with the process of growth. It’s awkward and painful at times, but that’s what makes it beautiful—you’ll remember someone from your past in a warm, nostalgic way.”
On her character, she added, “Je-yeon treats love like work—she jumps right in. That impulsiveness is cute, and it’s fun to watch her emotions evolve bit by bit. I tried to express her changing feelings toward Woo-hae with care.”
My Youth premieres September 5, inviting viewers into a tender story of rekindled love and personal transformation.
