Kim Woo Bin and Bae Suzy are back together on screen, and this time, they’re bringing a magical twist.
Their new K-fantasy romcom Genie, Make a Wish promises an enchanting mix of laughter, romance, and destiny — the perfect feel-good binge just in time for Korea’s Chuseok holiday. The series will premiere globally on Netflix on October 3.
The story begins when Genie (Kim Woo Bin), a mischievous spirit who awakens after a thousand years, crosses paths with Ka-young (Bae Suzy), a beautiful but emotionally detached woman who suddenly becomes the owner of a mysterious lamp. Tasked with granting her three life-altering wishes, Genie stumbles through the modern world with his devilish flair, sparking a slow-burn romance that is equal parts electric, witty, and heartwarming.
Fans are especially thrilled to see Kim Woo-bin and Suzy reunite — two heavyweights of the K-romcom scene whose chemistry has long been a fan favorite. Kim Woo-bin embodies the playful yet dangerous charm of the “satanic” Genie, while Suzy brings quiet depth and allure to the role of Ka-young, whose stoic exterior slowly begins to crack.
Adding more layers of charm is the strong supporting lineup: Ahn Eun Jin (Hospital Playlist, Goodbye Earth), Noh Sang Hyun (Pachinko, Love in the Big City), Ko Kyu-pil (The Roundup: No Way Out), and Lee Zoo-young (The 8 Show, Shades of the Heart), each stepping into roles that promise extra sparkle in this fantastical universe.
The newly revealed Date Announcement poster teases the irresistible magic at the show’s core. Set against a glowing desert night, Ka-young holds the lamp steady as Genie materializes from golden sand, his vow to find her shimmering with mystery.
And the revelation that Genie is actually Iblis — better known as Satan — adds an unexpected, mischievous twist to the age-old wish-granting tale. Ka-young’s calm, almost amused reaction hints that their love story will be anything but ordinary.
Featuring a rich mix of fantasy, humor, romance, and whimsy, Genie, Make a Wish is primed to capture hearts worldwide when it lands on Netflix this October 3.
