KBS2’s upcoming series, Oasis, knows no moderation with its parade of fascinating teasers!
After a refreshing teaser poster, the series has since dropped character stills and posters along with the recently unveiled group poster.
Oasis depicts the story of three young people who fiercely work hard to protect their dreams, friendship and once-in-a-lifetime first love against the backdrop of a turbulent Korea from the 1980s to the 1990s.
In the drama, Jang Dong Yoon (Search, Tale of Nokdu) plays Lee Du-hak, a poor young man with kind intentions and a pure soul. He embraces a heartfelt love affair when he fell in love at first sight with a transfer student from Seoul. Along with that, he confronts a tumultuous life as he gets caught up in an unexpected incident.
Seol In Ah (Business Proposal) plays Oh Jung-shin who can’t stand injustice so she fights against it. She has a candid and confident personality to work toward achieving her dream. After transferring to a new school, she forms a strong friendship and young love with Lee Du-hak and Choi Cheol-woong, creating unforgettable memories of her school days.
Rookie actor Choo Young Woo takes on the role of Choi Cheol-woong, a friend of Du-hak. They grew up together since childhood. He is an elite who is also at the top of the class. Ambitious and driven, he doesn’t like losing. While he seems to have almost everything, he cannot win the heart of the only girl he likes.
“Oasis” Marks Out Beautiful Shining Moments Of Youth With Unveiled Poster
Fighting To Protect One’s Oasis
Attracting attention, the group poster shows the lead stars staring at someone from different places. It is a 180-degree change from the teaser poster where they wear a school uniform in a lively mood with bright smiles carved on their lips.
Du-hak with red scars on his face, Jung-shin in a black dress, and Cheol-woong in a neat suit represent the situation of the three young people living in a different world from the past.
Meeting Cheol-woong’s downward gaze, Du-hak stares back with anger, hinting at a tension between them. Meanwhile, Jung-jin has her eyes only looking at Du-hak.
The colliding gazes of the three suggest intriguing affections that are willingly given yet unreturned.
In addition, the silhouette of Du-Hak when he was young appears like he had turned his back on the friendships he shared with them. It stimulates curiosity about what happened in the past, and who made him change so much.
A Love That Can’t Be Prevented and Fulfilled
Further providing details about the lead stars, the character posters unveiled reflect the quenchless thirst of the three friends for love.
“In a world where monsters are normal, only you were my oasis,” contains Du-hak’s yearning and devotion for his first love, which he wanted to protect until the end even after becoming a ‘monster’.
Stealing attention, Jung-shin’s poster message says, “Then why did I let go of your hand?” Her regretful eyes double the sorrow for the love that was let go between her and Du-hak.
Revealing his earnest love for Jung-shin and strong jealousy toward Du-hak; Cheol-woong’s sharp eyes and tightly closed lips match his one and only desire as told by the poster text: “I desperately wanted you to be my home.”
Oasis will be broadcast for the first time at 9:50 pm on March 6 on KBS2 TV.
