SBS’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama Our Movie, set to premiere this June, has officially begun production with a dynamic script reading session featuring its stellar cast.
This much-anticipated melodrama tells the poignant love story of Lee Je-ha (Namgoong Min), a director stuck in the past, and Lee Da-eum (Jeon Yeo Been), an actress living as if today is her last.
The chemistry between Namgoong Min—renowned for his transformative performances—and Jeon Yeo-bin—famed for her emotional versatility—is already sparking excitement. With acclaimed director Lee Jung-heum (Nobody Knows) at the helm, expectations are high for a visually rich and emotionally resonant drama.
The script reading brought together writers Han Ga-eun and Kang Kyung-min, and cast members Lee Seol (as top actress Chae Seo-young) and Seo Hyun-woo (as film producer Boo Seung-won). The room quickly buzzed with energy as the actors dove into their roles, bringing intensity, humor, and heart to the table.
Namgoong Min captured director Lee Je-ha’s internal struggles and creative passion, seamlessly slipping into character with commanding lines like “action,” “cut,” and “okay,” echoing the role’s on-set authority.
Jeon Yeo Been brought warmth and vitality to Da-eum, portraying a character who finds joy in the moment despite her limited time. Her bright expressions and natural delivery gave life to the script’s emotional core.
Lee Seol added intrigue as Chae Seo-young, revealing layers of poise and vulnerability in her dynamic with Lee Je-ha. Meanwhile, Seo Hyun-woo charmed everyone as Boo Seung-won, especially with his witty ad-lib, “Just use it,” earning a laugh and praise from Director Lee, who quipped, “I wish I had a CEO like that.”
From heartfelt performances to easy camaraderie, the session gave a glimpse of the synergy fueling Our Movie. At its center is the touching journey of two wounded people finding healing and love through cinema—a story within a story.
Namgoong Min shared, “I have a good feeling about this one. If you’re looking for a well-crafted drama, keep your eyes on this.” Jeon Yeo-bin added, “I’m starting this project with nerves and excitement. I hope Our Movie becomes a gift to viewers.”
