Park Hae Soo, Lee Hee Jun, and Kwak Sun Young Unite in New Dark Crime Thriller

Scarecrow (LT) follows the chilling pursuit of a serial killer that binds together two rivals who once despised each other.

From 1988 to 2019, the drama navigates through 33 years of unresolved grudges, unexpected alliances, and the relentless search for truth.

Director Park Joon-woo, celebrated for his meticulous direction in Taxi Driver and Crash, reunites with screenwriter Lee Ji-hyun to craft a fresh take on the crime-thriller genre. Their proven creative synergy is fueling expectations for a series of unparalleled intensity and detail.

Leading the cast, Park Hae Soo takes on the role of Kang Tae-joo, a once-renowned ace detective who finds himself demoted back to his hometown of Gangseong. Unyielding in his principles, Tae-joo views the Gangseong serial murder case as a chance to reclaim his name. But fate forces him into an uneasy partnership with Cha Si-young, his former classmate and long-standing rival.
Park Hae-soo shared his dedication to the role, saying:

“I’m so grateful to join a project with such a passionate production team and cast. I’ll bring all of my enthusiasm to portraying Kang Tae-joo’s journey.”

Lee Hee Joon transforms into Cha Si-young, an ambitious prosecutor from an elite family who hides an insatiable hunger for power. Using the Gangseong serial murders as his stepping stone to political fame, Si-young forms a tense and dangerous alliance with Kang Tae-joo, the very man he once tormented in school.
On joining the project, Lee Hee-jun remarked:

“The script was so engaging. I’m honored and thrilled to take part in such a meaningful story.”

Rounding out the trio, Kwak Sun Young plays Seo Ji-won, a fearless and determined journalist at the Gangseong Ilbo. A classmate of Kang Tae-joo, Ji-won relentlessly chases the truth behind the murders while keeping a critical eye on law enforcement. Known for her bold and authentic portrayals, Kwak Sun-young expressed her excitement:

“I’m really looking forward to the unique energy that this cast, director, and crew will create. I hope viewers will give us their love and support.”

Featuring a stellar cast, gripping storyline, and creative team known for genre-defining hits, Scarecrow is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about dramas of 2026. Viewers can catch the series exclusively on Genie TV and Channel ENA in the first half of the year.
