“Perfect Family” Pitches Burning Secrets and Tragic Reality In Latest Teaser

Perfect Family

KBS2 TV’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama, Perfect Family, premiering on August 14th unleashes an enigmatic poster.

This series centers on a seemingly perfect and happy family whose harmonious facade begins to crumble as they start suspecting each other following their daughter’s murder.

Perfect Family marks the first Korean project by director Isao Yukisada, renowned for his acclaim at various film festivals, and is based on a popular webtoon of the same name.

Choi Jin-hyuk (played by Kim Byung Chul) and Ha Eun-joo (played by Yoon Se Ah) appear to be a seemingly happy couple. Their lives take a devastating turn when their adopted daughter, Choi Sun-hee (played by Park Ju Hyun), becomes the victim of a shocking murder.

A recently released three-person poster fuels the intrigue. Sun-hee stands at the center, her hand resting on Jin-hyeok’s shoulder while holding Eun-joo’s hand. This seemingly loving gesture takes on a more complex meaning given the parents’ stiff expressions.

Jin-hyuk, a man with a strong exterior masking a gentle heart, and Eun-joo, a woman brimming with maternal love, project an air of unease. In stark contrast, Sun-hee, the perfect daughter with a flawless record, offers a faint smile. The image is a study in contrasts, hinting at the hidden tensions within the family.

The tagline, “Love, responsibility, sacrifice, warmth… and so family again,” carries a weight of unspoken tragedy. The idyllic family portrait crumbles under the chilling backdrop of a burning fire, a visual metaphor for the secrets and turmoil threatening to consume them.

A Perfect Family?

The production team elaborated, “We aimed to convey the mixed hot and cold atmosphere among the three family members through this poster. We hope viewers enjoy speculating about its hidden messages and feel the true essence of a family as conveyed by Kim Byung-chul, Yoon Se-ah, and Park Joo-hyun in this drama.”

Perfect Family explores the unraveling of family ties under the strain of suspicion and grief, set against a backdrop of a chilling mystery. The show promises to delve deep into themes of trust, love, and sacrifice, all while keeping viewers on the edge of their seats with its suspenseful narrative. The anticipation for the drama is heightened by the return of these talented actors and the unique vision of director Isao Yukisada, who brings his cinematic expertise to the small screen for the first time in Korea.

Will Perfect Family live up to its suspenseful promise? Mark your calendars for August 14th and prepare to be drawn into this unsettling mystery that shatters the illusion of a perfect family.
