Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist releases new teasers showing the extraordinary aura of Gye Ji-han, to be portrayed by Kim Sang Kyung.
Directed by Park Won-Gook, and in collaboration with renowned writers Park Seul-Ki, Choi Min-Ho, and Lee Bom; Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist is a happiness-inducing drama where a genius doctor (Kim Min Jae) who has insomnia, meets Seo Eun-woo (Kim Hyang Gi) a widow, and Gye Ji-han, a geeky teacher.
Gye Ji-han is well-known as a “geeky member of the council” who gave money to Gyesu Village.
Moreover, he treats patients with unstoppable hands and shows deep inner strength in his serious and sharp eyes. Despite his intimidating appearance, he is more genuine when you get to know him and get closer to him.
Kim Sang Kyung shares how the title makes the drama more interesting.
“I was curious whether there were psychiatrists in the Joseon Dynasty. It is a subject that has not been dealt with in historical dramas so far, so viewers will enjoy it.”
He also describes how the characters dealt with problems in the drama as “Fun.”
“It is a drama about compassion – something that heals the wounded heart with a warm love.”
Furthermore, he also divulges his thoughts about his character.
“He seems like a person who uses harsh words and reveals money, but when you get to know him, he is a three-dimensional person with a deep affection for humans.”
He is renowned for using more daring body language and facial expressions. With that, Kye Ji-han began to gain anticipation as the new “life character.”
‘Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist’ will premiere on August 1 at 10:30 pm.
