Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won are set to define “powerhouse couple” in Queen of Tears.
tvN’s new drama Queen of Tears narrates the dizzying crisis and miraculous restart of Hong Hae-in, a third-generation chaebol heiress of Queen’s Group, and Baek Hyun-woo, a supermarket prince and son of Yongduri’s head.
They are a married couple of three years. The compelling narrative of this couple as they face and overcome distressing obstacles is anticipated to move the viewers and help them appreciate the value of family.
The series is a collaboration between the writer Park Ji Eun (My Love from the Star, Legend of the Blue Sea, Crash Landing on You) and directors Jang Young Woo (Bulgasal: The Immortal Souls) and Kim Hee Won (Vincenzo, Little Women).
Meet the Cast of Queen of Tears
Kim Soo Hyun plays Baek Hyun-woo, the legal director of Queen’s Group, who was born in Yongduri, a rural area. He is a lawyer with a handsome face and a law degree from a prestigious university. Three years after becoming the husband of Queen Hong Hae-in, envied by everyone, an unexpected crisis befalls him.
Next, Kim Ji Won plays the role of Hong Hae-in, the president of Queen’s Department Store. She has been rich ever since she was born and is a queen who has never bent or bowed to others. She chooses Hyun-woo, from Yongduri Supermarket, marries him, and lives a brilliant life until she encounters unexpected difficulties.
Attention is focused on how Hong Hae-in will overcome this crisis and Kim Ji-won’s transformation as she portrays the character of Hong Hae-in, the absolute monarch.

Portraying Yoon Eun-sung, a former Wall Street analyst and M&A expert is Park Sung Hoon. He is a famous investor known to everyone who returns to Korea after living abroad for a long time and begins to form a relationship with the Queen’s chaebol group family. Although his abilities are outstanding, he gives off a somewhat suspicious vibe. Look forward to meeting Eun-sung who will add to the tension in the romance.
Kwak Dong-yeon breathes life into Hong Soo-cheol, the CEO of Queen’s Mart. He is Hong Hae-in’s younger brother, and because he grew up under a strong older sister, he met his wife, Cheon Da-hye, who is the exact opposite of Hong Hae-in, and is happily married.
