The new series Low Life starring actors Ryu Seung Ryong, Im Soo Jung, and Yang Se Jong will be released on Disney+.
Low Life is based on the webtoon of the same name. It is one of author Yoon Tae-ho’s representative works, which was inspired by the incident of a treasure ship discovered off the coast of Shinan in the 1970s. It is an adaptation of a beloved webtoon about two family members who will stop at nothing to find success.
When a valuable treasure is discovered off the coast of Korea, the country’s biggest degenerates come crawling out of the woodwork in the hope of striking it big in Low Life, a new series coming in 2025 exclusively to Disney+.
In 1970s Korea, a fisherman discovers a treasure lost for generations at the bottom of the ocean. Taking a small part of it home for himself, word soon begins to spread about the vast fortune waiting to be claimed by those brave enough to risk the depths. Desperate to escape his depressing life, Oh Heedong partners with his uncle Oh Gwanseok in an attempt to reach the treasure before the rest of the world. But with both family members lacking loyalty and integrity, the tension boils to a tipping point.
In addition, director Kang Yun-seong, who created a series of hit films such as seasons 1 and 2 of Disney+’s original series Big Bet and the movie Crime City, took the lead.
Ryu Seung Ryong, Yang Se Jong, Lim Soo Jung, Kim Eui Seong, Kim Sung Oh, Hong Ki Jun, Jang Gwang, Kim Jong Su, Woo Hyun, Lee Dong Hwi, Jung Yun Ho, Lim Hyung Jun, Lee Sang Jin and Kim Min are confirmed as the main characters who will lead Fine.
In particular, Ryu Seung Ryong is expected to lead the play solidly by having another web series after Moving and Chicken Nugget.
There is increasing curiosity about how director Kang Yun-seong, a master of the genre, will portray sincere villains who steal artifacts from the sea in an era when people chase money and desire to make a living.
