Seoul Busters unveils character posters of the quirky cast!
The series follows a team of underperforming homicide detectives who are in for a rude awakening. Starring Kim Dong Wook, Park Ji Hwan, and more, the series promises a lot of laughs as the Songwon Homicide Division faces big changes.
For years, the Songwon Homicide Division has consistently ranked among the worst performers in the Korean police force. Composed of a group of misfit officers, the team is about to be shaken up with the arrival of a new captain. Known for his excellence, the new captain aims to turn the division around in this entertaining series.
The show is helmed by Director Ahn Jong-yeon, known for Racket Boys, and features writers Lee Young-chul, famed for the High Kick sitcom series, and Lee Kwang-jae, who co-wrote Smashing Your Back.
The newly released character posters evoke nostalgia with featured childhood character card aesthetics, while also highlighting the distinct skills of each member of the Violent Crimes Unit. Featuring bold illustrations and lettering, the vibrant posters capture the dynamic energy of the show and display the unique traits and nicknames of the unit members at a glance.
Kim Dong Wook stars as Dongbang Yoobin, the super elite squad leader who joins the struggling Violent Crimes Unit, notorious for its failures and constant demotions of squad leaders. His character is described as a clear-eyed madman with a strong emphasis on logic and facts, as reflected in the tagline, “Squad leader, you seem like a bit of an explanatory jerk right now.” Viewers are eager to see how Dongbang Yoobin’s sharp reasoning will anchor the disjointed team.
Park Ji Hwan plays Mu-gyeong-ryeok, a bulldozer detective known for his relentless spirit and unique approach to solving cases. Despite being called crazy by Dongbang Yoobin, he eventually proves his worth with a decisive ‘KO Man’ blow. His devilish charm and weightlessness are expected to captivate viewers and spark curiosity about his true nature.
Seo Hyun Woo takes on the role of Jung Jung-hwan, a life-saving detective who excels in social maneuvering, flattery, and coupon collection. Known for his frugality and knack for making a mountain out of a molehill, Jung Jung-hwan is also a former national shooting team member, transforming into a sharpshooter in critical moments.
Park Se Wan portrays Seo Min-seo, a hot-blooded detective with a no-filter attitude who prefers swift action over sweet talk. Although she is overly easygoing about cleanliness, she is ranked first in the 2nd Violent Crimes Unit. Seo Min-seo, who serves as the dedicated marksman for the new unit leader Dongbang Yoobin, brings an unexpected charm as ‘Fairy Min-seo,’ deeply empathizing with victims’ stories.
Lee Seung Woo plays Jang Tan-sik, a rookie detective known for his bright smile and distinctive sense of smell, which rivals that of a drug detection dog. Despite having no actual sense of smell, his unique ability to sniff out clues adds an intriguing dynamic to his character, generating curiosity about his role alongside the drug detection dog.
The diverse abilities of this ragtag Violent Crimes Unit promise to create explosive synergy when they work together. The team’s strong individual skills and dynamic teamwork are set to heighten expectations for Seoul Busters!
Seoul Busters premieres on Disney+ on the 11th.
