As South Korea tears itself apart in the midst of a democratic movement, can Young Ro and Su Ho stay together?
Upcoming JTBC drama Snowdrop has released a teaser video earlier today, featuring the main leads (played by Jung Hae In and BLACKPINK’s Jisoo) about to hold hands.
Created by the director and writer of the popular drama series SKY Castle, Snowdrop is set in a prestigious Seoul university in 1987.
Set against the backdrop of the 1987 democratic movement in South Korea – a time of mass protest against the then-authoritarian government of the time – Su Ho is a male graduate student who has taken part in a pro-democracy protest. He is then found by Young Ro, a female university student, covered in blood.
Young Ro hides Su Ho from the government in her dormitory room at the women’s university. However, Su Ho may not be who he appears to be at first. While South Korea tears itself apart, can Young Ro and Su Ho stay together?
After a shorter version of the teaser video was released last week, this newer full “music prologue” teaser features Su Ho and Young Ro looking at each other. Romantic moments are shown as “Past Days” (a 1987 South Korean hit by Yoo Jae Ha) plays in the background.
Snowdrop is set to premiere at 10:30 p.m. KST on 18 December on JTBC. It will also be available to international viewers through the streaming service Disney+.
