Summer Strike cast Im Si Wan and Kim Seol Hyun shared their thoughts on working with each other!
Im Si Wan and Kim Seol Hyun are starring in a new heartwarming romance series called Summer Strike. While this is the first project they’d be working on together, the two talented and award-winning actors compliment each other with kind words. They also shared how the filming went.
Genie TV’s original drama Summer Strike is directed and penned by Lee Yoon Jung and Hong Moon Pyo. It is adapted from Joo Young-Hyun’s romance webtoon series, “I Don’t Feel Like Doing Anything”. This new healing romance drama features Kim Seol Hyun and Im Si Wan.
It depicts the story of Yeoreum, a woman who suffers from burnout from her work and a series of unfortunate circumstances in her relationships. Desiring to do nothing, she takes a strike against life and moves from the cityscapes of Seoul to a small beach village known as Angok.
In Angok, she meets librarian Daebum, who suffered a similar life as Yeoreum, and they grow close through numerous incidents that bond them together.
Im Si Wan and Kim Seol Hyun’s chemistry
Summer Strike marks the first drama Im Si Wan and Kim Seol Hyun ever worked on together. Upon the release of its main posters and trailers, their healing visuals and refreshing chemistry instantly drew various reactions from viewers. Adding to the drama’s beauty, Summer Strike was filmed against the picturesque sceneries from Gurye, Gokseong, and Namhae.
Ahead of its premiere, the two main actors of the new series shared some remarks about working with each other for the first time. They also commented on the warm atmosphere of the set.
Expressing her enthusiasm, Kim Seol Hyun shared that she felt excited upon hearing that Im Si Wan will be starring in the drama as well. She even praised the actor that he could play the character Daebum really well. She also revealed how the actor treated him.
“While we are filming, he made me feel comfortable, cared for me, and gave me a lot of unique and creative ideas, that’s why each scene was enjoyable.”
Likewise, Im Si Wan also conveyed his perception of the actress.
“Even before filming, I had a very good impression of her because a lot of my fellow actors and producers who worked with Kim Seol Hyun in the past consistently praised her. Honestly, when we started working together, I could feel that she is a bright and pure person.”
Along with the release of their remarks, the drama also unveiled new stills featuring the bright and contagious smiles of the actors.
Kim Seol Hyun shared,
“The atmosphere on the set was so great that I couldn’t wait to film every day. Our filming site was the place where I could feel the love of all my fellow actors and staff members.”
Summer Strike will premiere on November 21. It will air every Tuesday and Wednesday and fans can watch it on ONE TV Asia and Viu.
