“The Art of Negotiation” Director Praises Lee Je Hoon’s Perfect Synchronization with His Role

Director Ahn Pan Suk is building anticipation for JTBC’s upcoming weekend series The Art of Negotiation, highlighting its gripping narrative and stellar cast.

The Art of Negotiation follows the legendary negotiator Yoon Joo-no and his team as they navigate high-stakes deals in the world of mergers and acquisitions. Known for his meticulous attention to detail and realistic storytelling, Ahn Pan Suk has already raised expectations, especially after his success with White Tower, which set a new standard for medical office dramas.

Unlike his previous works, The Art of Negotiation takes a more intense, solid approach. “Rather than a soft love story, this drama feels like a financial war,” Ahn explained. “It was refreshing to take on a project like this after a long time.”

Interestingly, this marks the first time Ahn has chosen a drama based on a completed script rather than collaborating with a writer from the ground up. “When I read the script, I knew this was a story worth telling,” he shared.

Ahn emphasized his commitment to realism, stating, “Every drama must feel authentic. There should be no moment where the audience doubts its credibility.” Given his track record of bringing lifelike stories to the screen, viewers are eager to see how he will portray the cutthroat world of M&A.

Praising his cast, Ahn expressed full confidence in their performances. “The synchronization between the actors and their roles is outstanding,” he said. He particularly highlighted Kim Dae Myung’s layered portrayal of Oh Soon-young and the seasoned skills of Sung Dong-il, Jang Hyun-sung, and Oh Man-seok. Additionally, he urged viewers to keep an eye on rising stars Ahn Hyun-ho and Cha Kang-yoon for their bold and realistic performances.

However, the biggest highlight, according to Ahn, is Lee Je Hoon’s transformation into Yoon Joo-no. “From the moment he stepped onto the set, he became Yoon Joo-no,” the director said. “Lee Je-hoon is the heart of our drama—his performance, his presence, everything about him is worth watching.”

The Art of Negotiation premieres on March 8 at 10:30 PM.
