A gangster and an idol are the roles Lee Joon and Lee Yoo Bi would portray in SBS drama The Escape of the Seven!
The Escape of the Seven narrates the story of seven people involved in a girl’s disappearance. Lies and desires intertwine leading to the girl’s vanishing.
Uhm Ki Joon, Hwang Jung Eum, Lee Joon, Lee Yu Bi, Shin Eun Kyung, Yoon Jong Hoon, Jo Yoon Hee, Jo Jae Yoon and Lee Duk Hwa star in this picaresque drama slated to air on September 15.

Lee Yu Bi as an Idol with a Secret
In The Escape of the Seven, Lee Yu Bi transforms into Han Mo-ne, a universal star with a fatal weakness.
The released character stills of Mo-ne show her dazzling beauty, wealthy family, and outstanding talent. Even in an ordinary school uniform, she attracts attention. She is a school star and an aspiring idol. Her passionate desire to become a star is reflected in her eyes as she pours out sweat and devotes himself to dancing and singing.
Han Mo-ne’s confident expression in front of the camera is also interesting. The venom behind her lovely smile suggests that she, too, is walking down a difficult path. Even though she seems to lack nothing, she has a fatal weakness called “lies”. She was deeply involved in a bullying incident that led a girl to a tragedy.

I put a lot of effort into styling my idol character, as well as singing and dancing in a natural way. I also went through a lot of trouble to empathize with the emotions of the villain and express them well due to the nature of the picaresque revenge genre.”
Lee Joon as a Former Gangster with Rough Charms
Lee Joon takes on the role of Min Do-hyuk, a man living without any dreams or hopes.
Min Do-hyuk’s unbalanced life can be guessed from his cold and sharp eyes. He is a former gangster and is a person who lives and dies by loyalty, but he changed owing to a series of unexpected betrayals. The sight of him in a precarious state, covered in wounds, riding in a police convoy seems empty.
In fact, Do-hyuk is softer and warmer than anyone else, despite his rough and cold appearance. He wants to return to his family, but he feels so insignificant. His face is filled with worry and guilt for his family.
What kind of race will Min Do-hyuk, who was unintentionally caught up in an unfortunate incident, run through in the chaos?
Conveying his interest in the script, Lee Joon shares his thoughts about The Escape of the Seven.
“When I first received the offer for the work and read the script, it was so interesting that I read it right away. I confirmed my participation at the first meeting with director Joo Dong-min and writer Kim Soon-ok. Various ideas are shared quickly and accurately, and filming progresses with a focus on communication. I thought the combination of the writer and director was a great fit, and I tried to blend in.”
Lee Joon, who wanted to portray the character in a three-dimensional way, said, “As ‘Min Do-hyuk’ is a character who can be light and then very heavy at times, I wanted to make sure that the two sides felt like different characters so that no one could guess what his actions would be. Although his role is dark, I tried to incorporate innocence into the character.”
