tvN’s new Saturday- Sunday drama The Uncanny Counter 2: Counter Punch premiered on July 29.
Acting craftsman Yoo Jun Sang‘s sharp action scenes draw attention in the opening week. ‘Mo-tak’s power is strength. Yoo Jun Sang added fun to the scenes with a portrayal that shows excitement and joy.
Passionate Detective-Counter Mo-tak
In episodes 1 and 2 of The Uncanny Counter 2, Mo-tak returned as a detective and spectacular action scenes were made. He is busy as a counter and a detective, punishing the evil spirits as a counter, and then sending the criminal to the police station.
In addition, his keen eye for seeing Jeok-bong (Yoo In Soo), who showed a spirit of sacrifice for others, as the right counter, signals the beginning of a new development. Then, Mo-tak had an encounter with Wong, (Kim Hyun Wook), a demon from China, who fought fiercely with him there.
Here, Yoo Jun Sang completed a scene full of tension with sharp action acting that did not rust and unfolded a good performance that impress the viewers. In this way, Yoo Jun Sang, as a reliable senior, counter, and detective, is raising the charm of Mo-tak to the fullest.
Charismatic Devil Pil-gwang
On the other hand, Kang Ki Young successfully transforms into the sexy villain Pil-gwang. In the season premiere, he flaunted his presence by leaving a strong impression with his languid sexiness from his first appearance.
Then, the action scenes in which the Chinese counters were fighting ruthlessly showed off exciting martial arts that raises exhilarating tension. In particular, the vicious expression of Pil-gwang, who is delighted with the stronger energy after eating the souls of the counters, gives a sense of intimidation. Even in the next scenes, Pil-gwang’s careless misdeeds do not stop.
After defeating the Chinese counters and returning to Korea for full-fledged activities, Pil-gwang manipulated Park Pro (Park Jeong-bok) into killing Min-ji (Hong Ji Hee) through psychokinesis. Also, while the same demon, Wong (Kim Hyun Wook), was being beaten by the counters, he was busy just watching the game and calculating the Counters’ skills.
From the first broadcast, Kang Ki Young solidified his presence by vividly portraying the cold-blooded Pil-gwang who enjoys doing evil like a game. At the end of episode 2, the ending shows he is visiting the noodle shop, raising curiosity about Pil-gwang’s first face-to-face encounter with the counters.
Meanwhile, tvN’s drama The Uncanny Counter 2 starring Kang Ki Young and Yoo Jun Sang is broadcast every Saturday and Sunday at 9:20 pm.
