MBC’s new weekend supernatural-themed series, Tomorrow, dropped the first character stills of the lead pairing!
It surely is worth checking out!
Based on a webtoon written by Rama, Tomorrow shares the story of a dispirited job-seeker who accidentally meets grim reapers on a special mission. He then becomes a temporary worker in the underworld.
Writer Park Ran, who wrote various sitcoms, and new writers Park Ja-kyung and Kim Yu-jin will pen the script.
In addition, director Kim Tae Yoon, who helmed the movies New Trial and Mr. Zoo: The Missing VIP, and director Seong Chi Wook, who spearheaded MBC’s Special Labor Inspector Jo, Kairos and tvN’s Mouse will co-direct.
Sporting pink hair, Kim Hee Sun paints an interesting grim reaper character while evidently hooking with manly charms, Rowoon locks viewers’ attention effortlessly.
Kim Hee Sun as Gu Ryun
In Tomorrow, Kim Hee Sun takes on the role of Gu Ryun, the crisis management team leader of the ghost management headquarters of the underworld.
She’s strong against the strong and infinitely compassionate to the weak. Cold on the outside and warm on the inside, she is a woman who returned from hell after being disqualified to be chosen as an elite grim reaper.
Her teaser photos exude gorgeous visuals with trendy styling. Donning a leather jacket, striking make-up and teddy bear vest – her short pink-colored hairstyle nails her charismatic appearance.
At the same time, Kim’s overwhelming aura attracts attention. Her unfathomable expression and shining eyes make a piercing presence.
An air of loneliness is evident which further raises curiosity as to how she is labeled as “the woman who came back from hell”.
Accordingly, her life-saving grim reaper role is one of the drawing points of Tomorrow.
Kim Rowoon as Choi Jun-woong
Portraying Choi Jun-woong, the only contract employee of the crisis management team of Zuma-dong, a monopolistic underworld, is Rowoon.
He is a long-term trainee who is constantly on the go, a person who one day falls into a coma due to an unexpected accident.
Thereafter, he achieves his dream of finding a regular job for the first time, albeit it being in the afterlife in a half-human state.
Brimming with warmth and caring eyes, he brings people back to life as well as significant changes to the crisis management team.
Sharing Rowoon’s preparation for his character, the production team is all praises to the diligent actor.
“From the first filming, based on his love for the character and meticulous script analysis, Rowoon completely melted to Choi Jun-woong. He takes every moment seriously and is admiring with his passionate acting that brings the character to life.”
Meanwhile, Tomorrow is scheduled to premiere in the first half of 2022 following Tracer.
