Promising healing and romance, Welcome To Samdalri evokes warmth because of the lead stars’ bright smiles.
Welcome to Samdalri traverses the long connection shared by Jo Yong-pil (Ji Chang Wook) and Jo Sam-dal (Shin Hye Sun).
They share a long history of friendship. They were born in Jeju, five minutes apart on the same day.
From then on, they attended the same school from elementary to college. The Polaroid photos look into the history of the close friends. They also share smiles and affection with each other’s families.
However, their inseparable connection came to a pause. Yong-pil decides to stay in their hometown but Sam-dal pursues a new life in Seoul.
Still, the emotions and memories shared over the past 30 years cannot be easily ignored. The two friends reunite when Sam-dal returns to their hometown.

There are various people there, including divers and fishermen who go out to sea every day; the Meteorological Administration staff who protect them so they can continue their daily lives and businesses safely; the friends of Yongpil and Samdal, who went to Seoul and eventually returned to their hometown; the so-called ‘Five Eagle Brothers’, etc. They gather and live happily together.
It is said that the story of the people of Samdal-ri, full of human scent, will become a resting place for those who are weary. They can stop for a moment and catch their breath while enjoying the beautiful story. The same is true for Samdal, who experienced an unexpected and tremendous incident in Seoul and returned to Gaecheon’s arms in complete despair.
