The lead stars and director shared thoughts at the drama presentation of Welcome To Wedding Hell!
Director Song Je-young, actors Lee Jin Wook, Lee Yeon Hee, Lim Ha Ryong, Yun Yu Sun, and Gil Yong Woo happily greeted the press and formally introduce the latest offering from kakao TV.
Welcome To Wedding Hell chronicles the wedding preparation process of a couple in their 30s. Seemingly the beginning of happiness after hard work, Welcome To Wedding Hell gives a reality nudge to the struggles before marriage.
Lee Jin Wook plays a marriage idealist and soon-to-be-groom, Seo Jun-hyung. He is an optimistic man who is very smitten with his fiancée.
Lee Yeon Hee plays Kim Na Eun, a soon-to-be wife full of joy and affection. She has a harmonious relationship with her fiancé and got a decent job in a large company that everyone is envious of. A savvy realist, she thinks a rational choice is always the best.

Highlighting the message of the story, Director Seo points out that prospective married couples can resonate with it.
“It is a real romance drama that depicts the process of getting married. Married people can feel sympathy, and prospective couples should enjoy the drama for its suggestions targeting groom-and-bride-to-bes.”
Character Preparations for Lee Jin Wook and Lee Yeon Hee
Portraying the role of the presumptive groom, Seo Jun-hyung, the actor shared that his inexperience led him to listen to a lot of stories and rely on his imagination.
“I was supposed to be feeling choked while filming. They said that it’s an uncomfortable and suffocating place. It’s not a bad meaning, it’s a difficult place.”
Lee Yeon Hee who plays bride-to-be Kim Na-eun remarks she was able to sympathize well with her character.
“I sympathized with Na-eun’s situation and feelings a lot. As a woman who was about to get married at my age, I thought I can understand and express myself well.”
Adding to that, the actress emphasized the tackled “economic sphere” for newlyweds.
A Drama That Encourages Marriage
Playing the roles of the lead pair’s respective parents, seasoned actors Lim Ha Ryung, Yoon Yu Sun and Gil Young Woo chip in their insights about the series.
Lim Ha Ryung who plays Na-eun’s father in Welcome To Wedding Hell recalls fighting over trivial things was inevitable while in character as the father of the bride-to-be.
Likewise, Yoon Yu-sun, Jun-hyung’s mother in the drama also checked out Na-eun from head to toe. Relaying her character’s sentiments, she expressed how worried she was if her son declares going to be single.
To that, Lee Jin Wook responds and promises that the drama encourages marriage. He further expounds on how the perspectives of the potential newlyweds and their parents would be conveyed in the story.
Affirming that remark, Yoon Yu Sun revealed doing the drama made her understand the position of a mother-in-law for the first time. She also promised a fun realistic drama that viewers can enjoy
Meanwhile, Gil Young Woo who has previous real experience sending his own son to get married said he was able to feel the same because of how realistic the scenarios are.
Disclosing the series’ addicting element, the veteran actor chronicled how he enjoyed reading the script. Thus, once you watch the first episode, viewers would crave its succeeding ones up to the last episode.
