Coming June 3, the eagerly-awaited SBS courtroom drama, Why Her, officially launches!
Why Her tells the story of a passionate and charismatic lawyer, Oh Soo Jae (Seo Hyun Jin). At a young age, she has proven to have what it takes to become part of TK Law Firm’s top attorneys.
However, her journey to be known as one of the best lawyers in the country is not easy. Her principles and competitiveness helped her overcome challenges and became unstoppable.
A new case that she’s handling then took an unexpected turn that destroyed all the hard work she built. To go back on her feet, Oh Soo Jae needs to take the role of a professor at a law school.
There he meets law student Gong Chan who is not afraid of anything to protect her. Hwang In Youp takes the role of Gong Chan and expects a fascinating synergy with the actress.
Previously, SBS rolled out teasers of the lead pairing as well as the main poster. Now, it’s time to get to know Heo Joon Ho and Bae In Hyuk and their characters in the series.
Heo Joon Ho as Choi Tae-guk
The seasoned actor takes the role of Choi Tae-guk, chairman of TK law firm who is faithful to his desires. He has been watching Oh Soo-jae, who is loyal to him, freely crossing the border between good and evil to achieve what he wants.
Equipped with intense eyes and a gentle smile, he comes out in front of people with a classy charisma. He is regarded as the best owner of a leading large law firm, but he does not reveal the secret behind it to anyone.
Enamored by his new character, Heo Joon shared interesting insights about Choi Tae-guk.
“I thought it was a drama that shows the contradiction of power that knows no end to greed. Choi Tae-guk is not just a villain. His life approaches are attractive. He considers himself a good influence and comforts himself, and he loves his own world like that.”
Bae In Hyuk as Choi Yoon-sang
Transforming into law school student, Choi Yoon-sang, Bae In Hyuk marks his drama return since At A Distance Spring Is Green.
Yoon-sang has lived a life of hiding his loneliness with his harshness. He has a warm-hearted appearance, a cool and straightforward personality, and a precarious but free spirit.
In the teaser photos released, Yoon-sang sports different expressions. From being playful, indifferent and chic; his complicated and subtle relationships with Oh Soo-jae, Gong-chan, and Choi Tae-guk are some of the drawing points to the narrative.
Sharing thoughts about his character, Bae In Hyuk also invites viewers to watch Why Her.
“It was a genre that I had encountered for the first time, and it had a different vibe and weight from my previous works, so I was worried but enthused to challenge it. Choi Yun-sang is a free spirit with hidden innocence. He is arbitrary and reveals emotions as they flow. Without being confined to a set standard, he speaks and acts frankly and without hesitation.”
