Some friendships feel unshakable—until they’re not. You and Everything Else, arriving September 12 on Netflix, dives into the delicate, sometimes dangerous territory between love and envy, where years of shared memories can be both a bond and a battleground.
The series follows Ryu Eun-jung (Kim Go Eun) and Cheon Sang-yeon (Park Ji Hyun), best friends since childhood, whose lives have been knotted together through school corridors, whispered secrets, fierce encouragement, and unspoken rivalries. As the years pass, their closeness begins to blur into comparison, and admiration tips into quiet resentment.
From director Jo Young-min (Do You Like Brahms?, The Interest of Love) and writer Song Hye-jin (The Smile Has Left Your Eyes), the drama captures the complex reality of friendships that are both nurturing and wounding.
The newly released teaser and poster set the tone: we open mid-fight. Sang-yeon delivers a sharp, wounding truth, and Eun-jung fires back without hesitation. Their history is thick with love, but also with the kind of hurts that never fully fade. They’ve drifted apart twice already, yet still orbit each other, caught in a push-and-pull of admiration, jealousy, and longing.
You and Everything Else explores one of friendship’s quiet truths—sometimes you want to be your best friend, and sometimes you’re terrified you never will be. Through tender moments and painful confrontations, it asks: when the cracks start to show, can the bond survive, or will it finally shatter?
The series premieres exclusively on Netflix on Friday, September 12.
