In the revealed official poster, Kim Go Eun transforms into a charming and warm character. Her cells also peek behind the bulletin board.
Different notes are also posted all over the board; “Kim Yu Mi, The Great Korean Singer,” “What’s love?” and more.
Moreover, a noticeable message that adds expectation to the story states, “Don’t forget, the main character of this story is you.”
Yumi’s Cell tells the story of Kim Yu Mi and her adorable cells. She is an ordinary office worker who wants to add spice into her life.
After she experienced a breakup, her love cell fell into a coma. With that, she and her cells encounter growth as they try to wake her love cell.
When she met Ku Woong (Ahn Bo Hyun), a game developer, he slowly wakes Yumi’s love cell with his personality.
Kim Go Eun also opens up about her role in Yumi’s Cells. The actress said, “It’s a work that blends animation with real people, so I’m acting with the idea that “one part should be able to blend in well without springing out.”
Yumi’s Cells will be the first-ever Korean drama series with 3D animation. The producers of the series join hands with LOCUS, the creator of the animated film, Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs.
Yumi’s Cells premieres this September through TVING and tvN.
