Kim Go Eun will definitely sweep K-Drama fans’ hearts as she transforms into Yumi for her upcoming drama Yumi’s Cells!
Sought-after and talented actress Kim Go Eun is already making waves with her new charming look for the upcoming tvN drama Yumi’s Cells.
Based on a webtoon carrying the same title, the psychological-themed drama is about Yumi (played by Kim Go Eun), a single office worker, who is not good at expressing herself and her feelings. Her brain cells aid her in controlling all the emotions she feels such as love, violence and rationality, her thoughts, as well as actions she does.
Yumi’s love cells died after her last relationship, given how it ended on such a bad note. Seeing Yumi’s sad state, game developer Ku Woong (played by Ahn Bo Hyun) and her co-workers Ruby (played by Lee Yu Bi) and Seo Sae-i (played by Park Ji Hyun) will help her in regaining what she has lost as well as in growing and transforming into the best version of herself.
Making the drama more exciting, it will center around the point of view of Yumi’s brain cells in order to give viewers a deeper understanding of her personality and character. In the first set of previews released, Kim Go Eun effortlessly rocked Yumi’s signature short haircut and straight bangs. Her sweet smile and dreamy look make everyone more stoked about the upcoming feel-good program.
One of the images shows Go Eun sitting in front of her desk while donning a blazer and a plain white shirt. She appears to be in deep thought, daydreaming about something undisclosed.
Meanwhile, the other photo shows Go Eun in a café, while enjoying her favorite cup of coffee. In contrast to the previous still, she is now wearing a stunning dress while looking at the window and smiling brightly.
These alone indicate that the show will gain lots of local and international audiences, given how unique and novel its concept is.
“We started filming in April, and both the actors and the production team are working hard for a high-quality work,” the production team of Yumi’s Cells stated.
They added, “Kim Go Eun is an actress who fills out another side of Yumi that we have not been able to discover. You can look forward to how she creates a realistic and sympathetic character.”
Yumi’s Cells will air on tvN in the second half of 2021.
