Just when Yeon-Soo and Choi-Woong started to get closer, personal feelings came flooding in affecting them in the latest episodes of Our Beloved Summer.
Meanwhile, Ji-Woong confronted Choi-Woong that it is transparent that he still has some feelings left for Yeon-Soo. On the other side, Yeon-Soo reveals the true reason why she broke up with Choi-Woong years ago.

The Behind The Scenes
Taking a trip to their shared past, Ji-Woong and Choi-Woong met ever since they were children because they almost have the same names. Ji-Woong grows fond of Choi-Woong’s parents and his parents also take him as their son.
Coming to their teenage years, Ji-Woong has always been a silent type and the responsible one. He first saw Yeon-Soo at their school and gives her a rubber band for her hair.
He was completely amazed by Yeon-Soo’s personality. However, he remains hidden behind the cameras and Yeon-Soo’s life, especially the time when Choi-Woong tells him that he got a girlfriend.
Choi-Woong’s Odd Behavior
After the event, Yeon-Soo contemplates whether to apologize to Choi-Woong or not. She tries to call him, but he doesn’t answer. That’s why he decided to just let it go.
However, this keeps bothering her because she feels that Choi-Woong owes her an apology. Things turned around when Choi-Woong goes to Sol-Yi’s bar (Yeon-Soo’s friend) because he thought they would be shooting.
Yeon-Soo is surprised by Choi-Woong’s presence but she remains composed. What’s even odder is that he apologizes first because of his attitude and decides to push through the project with Nu-Ah.
Yeon-Soo feels something different towards Choi-Woong but couldn’t ask him what is wrong. He also acts up like a mature man that made Yeon-Soo feeling unsettled.
On the other hand, Ji-Woong confronts Choi-Woong that it’s crystal clear that he still has feelings for Yeon-Soo because he acts differently when she’s included on a topic.
It’s also the same for Chi-Sung because he notices that Choi-Woong becomes different when Yeon-Soo is around.
Yeon-Soo Went To Check Up Choi-Woong
Meanwhile, Choi-Woong focuses his attention on the project so that he can keep his mind off things. He draws straight for 95 hours even though his hand is very tired.
Yeon-Soo keeps worrying about Choi-Woong’s state because he doesn’t update her on how he is. She feels uncomfortable that’s why she calls Ji-Woong to ask how Choi-Woong is.
Inevitably, she decides to go to Choi-Woong’s house and give him some tea. She keeps reassuring herself that it’s normal to check their artist and that she must remain professional.
Yeon-Soo gets worried when no one is answering her doorbells and went straight to the door. Choi-Woong immediately opens the door and keeps his poker face. Yeon-Soo keeps reasoning on why she went to see him.
When it’s time for her to leave, Choi-Woong grabs her hand and asks her if she wants to stay and sleep.
Yeon-Soo’s Reason For the Break-Up
Choi-Woong didn’t take their break-up casually because his feelings are genuine towards Yeon-Soo. However, Yeon-Soo started to hesitate in their relationship when she analyzed their lives.
Yeon-Soo wanted to be successful to provide for their family but Choi-Woong just wants a happy and unstressful life. She doesn’t want him to see her inferiority complex and decides to leave him.
However, after all this time the two still feel the same and care for each other a lot. Choi-Woong slept well for the first time after Yeon-Soo takes care of him and he realizes he can never get over her.
Our Beloved Summer Episode 5 & 6 Musings
Our Beloved Summer gets better and better per episode, this time Ji-Woong’s feelings are slowly unfolding. We can sense that he has some great respect towards Choi-Woong that’s why he remained silent.
I bet that there would come a time when Ji-Woong would confess his feelings to Yeon-Soo. We also hope that his relationship with Choi-Woong would remain the same.
Moreover, it seems like Yeon-Soo and Choi-Woong still love each other but they keep repressing and denying it. Choi-Woong slowly grows mature every time he realizes what happened in the past, while Yeon-Soo is bothered by what’s happening to him.
What shocked me the most is when he invited Yeon-Soo for a sleepover at his house. Choi-Woong doesn’t remember that Yeon-Soo took care of him and he sleeps very well for the first time.
I love the confrontation in the last part of the sixth episode because he finally asks Yeon-Soo how has she been. After reuniting they didn’t talk about their break-up but Choi-Woong burst the bubble and faces up Yeon-Soo, even though their hearts are breaking.
