Undercover High School Episodes 7 and 8 Highlights
Previously, Hae-seong and Su-a were entangled in a sweet moment awakening the latter’s sleeping love cells. It also dawns on Hae-seong his childhood connection to Su-a.
In order to gain access to the Chairwoman’s office to check on a grand piano, Hae-seong must attend Byeongmun High’s annual special party. To secure his attendance, he needed to win the title of “face of Byeongmun High.” Su-a advocated for a fair voting system when the Vice-Principal insisted on choosing the winners arbitrarily. Luckily, Hae-seong emerged victorious in the vote, ensuring his place at the party.
“That’s it for our class today. Don’t ask questions.”
However, to decipher the recorded music score Hae-seong got from the grandfather’s clock clue, they need someone skilled in playing the piano. Enter Su-a, who eagerly volunteers to teach Hae-seong and join him in uncovering the mystery. Together, they also manage to secure the Principal’s fingerprint, granting them access to the room they need.
Meanwhile, Hae-seong finds himself unexpectedly drawn to Su-a, feeling a growing sweetness in their interactions—whether it’s through piano lessons or when he teaches her self-defense. Realizing he’s getting distracted, he scolds himself to stay focused on the mission.
As the team huddles to strategize, each member takes on their assigned tasks. Elsewhere, Chairwoman Seo informs the Principal about an important guest she is expecting.
“Do you remember what I said the other day? I’ll make sure nothing happens today, so don’t worry. And you look pretty today.”
On the event day, the team convenes and waits for their chance to enter Chairwoman Seo’s room. Hae-seong and Su-a need to sneak in when the chairwoman holds the tea session with the esteemed guest.
Hae-seong also reassures Su-a that he will protect her and puts a necklace with a camera on her neck. On cue, they moved once the power was cut off. He also subdues the guards who come to stop them with Su-a’s help.
While Byeongmun High Choir sings the alma mater song, Hae-song and Su-a play the instrumental on the piano. However, nothing happened. To avoid compromising the mission, Hae-seong follows the team leader to clean up his trace. He also stumbles on the truth that Chairwoman Seo designed the mission he is currently working on.
Contemplating his discovery, Hae-seong thinks of the possibility there is a traitor in the team. He cannot trust anyone anymore. Meanwhile. Su-a also finds out the meaning of the clue from the piano piece. She also stumbles on how the awards and achievements at Byeongmun High are rigged.
“Su-a, please wake up!”
Ye-na also learns the truth that she is the person who benefitted most from the predetermined achievers’ list of the school. She confronted her mother about it who did not deny that she did everything for her.
Hae-seong needs to continue staying at the school to get information from Chairwoman Seo. Taking the opportunity at Chairwoman Seo’s routine cafeteria visit, he leads the chairwoman to disclose information about the gym that he has yet to confirm.
Su-a finds a new anomaly to the designated proctor of the exams and contests at school. She rushes to Hae-seong’s place. But she is greeted by a messy house. When Hae-seong arrives, he sees the fatally wounded Su-a on the floor.
Undercover High School Episodes 7 and 8 Musings
Early on, it’s easy to assume that Chairwoman Seo enlisted the NIS to aid her in locating the hidden gold crucial for the Edu City project. However, the identity of her true ally remains a mystery, adding intrigue to the unfolding story.
Hae-seong and Su-a have their hands full, but the series masterfully maintains its intensity, balancing the treasure hunt with the conflicts it highlights. What makes the narrative even more compelling is its school setting, which seamlessly weaves in classic campus drama themes. Issues like bullying, parental pressure, and grade manipulation serve as stark reminders of the flaws in the education system.
It’s also refreshing to see Yena take the righteous path. As Yu-jeong predicted, her seemingly cold demeanor masks a kind heart—one that has been shaped by a lack of maternal love and years of conditioning under Chairwoman Seo’s influence.
This episode also delivers a powerful message to parents who turn a blind eye to their children’s misbehavior. Children often mirror the values they are raised with, and in a world where power and wealth dictate influence, raising entitled individuals can create deep-rooted societal issues that may become irreversible.
As the story progresses, anticipation builds for how Su-a and Hae-seong will expose the rigged grading system at Byeongmun High while continuing their thrilling quest for gold by deciphering the third ghost story in Undercover High School.
