We can foresee being reminded of our very own first love stories in Netflix’s upcoming retro-romance story!
Streaming on October 21, the movie stars Kim Yoo Jung and Byeon Woo Seok. Rounding up the lead cast are Roh Yoon Seo and Park Jung Woo.
Set in 1999, 20th Century Girl chronicles the story of a teen girl named Na Bo-ra. He starts keeping close tabs on a boy in school for her deeply smitten best friend.
Little did she know that she will also be swept in a love story of her own. Through fate, Bo-Ra met again her first love during the 21st century.
Directed and written by Bang Woo Ri, 20th Century Girl is a melo-romantic film that would pique the heart of its viewers.
Unveiled in the teaser trailer is a videotape from 1999 memories of the 17-year-old Bora (Kim Yoo Jung) sighing deeply at the words of her best friend Yeon-doo (Roh Yoon Seo) who just declared someone stole her heart.
Bora volunteers to get details about Yeon-doo’s crush, Hyun-jin (Park Jung Woo) since she goes to the same school. To do that, she gets closer to Hyun-jin’s best friend Un-ho (Byeon Woo Seok). Thereafter, she learns about Hyun-jin’s height, preferred drink and beeper number.
As time goes by, Bora also gets close with Un-ho. Snippets of sharing fond moments with Un-ho and Hyun-jin raise curiosity. Writing an email to Yeon-doo, Bora confesses that her heart is acting weird, seemingly recognizing that she’s falling in love for the first time.
Subsequently, a vague reunion of Bo-ra with her first love is seen, but who could it be?
Along with the trailer released, new teaser photos reminiscent of first love were also unveiled by Netflix.
It traces key moments of the film through the captured photos.
Moreover, it also hints at not one but two endearing first love stories.
