“Seobok” & “Life Is Beautiful” Delay Big Screen Premieres

The third wave of coronavirus infection caused Korean films Seobok and Life is Beautiful to delay slated launches.

Scheduled to hit the box office this month are the two aforementioned films. However, since the situation on COVID-19 is not looking good, the film distributors have made decisions.

Affirming the decision through an announcement, Lotte Entertainment expressed postponement for Life is Beautiful.

Life Is Beautiful is a heartwarming romantic comedy film narrated with stunning songs celebrating the true essence of life and love. It stars Yum Jung Ah, Ryu Seung Ryeong, Ong Seong Wu and Park Se Wan. Chronicling a married couple on a mission to find the wife’s first love, it is highly anticipated as a musical film with a retro vibe.

Meanwhile, the eagerly-awaited team-up of Gong Yoo and Park Bo Gum in the film Seobok will also be delayed as confirmed by CJ Entertainment. It narrates the story of a secret service agent and a human clone.

In his last mission, Ki Heon (Gong Yoo) must ensure the safe transport of Seo Bok (Park Bo Gum). The human clone holds the secret to eternal life. Their characters will face challenges as forces will try their best to get their hands on the human clone.

Accordingly, these decisions will cause a dent in the film industry which has been struggling with its operation since the advent of the pandemic. Owing to the heightened social distancing due to the third surge of the novel coronavirus, the government-imposed movie theaters to an operating time set to be closed from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the next day.

No new screening dates yet have been confirmed for both Seobok and Life is Beautiful.
