22 years after, the well-loved film is set for a new interpretation starring the most talented actors of this generation.
Yeo Jin Goo, Cho Yi Hyun, Kim Hye Yoon, Na In Woo and Bae In Hyuk are set to start filming for Ditto in May.
Ditto depicts the story of a woman who fell in love with a man who is also liked by her best friend.
The movie was loved by many as an emotional melodrama that tells the sweet and fresh story of a man and a woman who communicated beyond the times.
For the 2022 adaptation, it will be a completely new remake of the movie of the same name starring Yoo Ji Tae, Kim Ha Neul, and Ha Ji Won released in 2000.
The character sketches are also tweaked from the original work. First, Yeo Jin Goo takes on the role of Yong, a returning mechanical engineering student.
Next, Cho Yi Hyun portrays a student in Sociology Department. Then, Kim Hye Yoon plays Hansol, Yong’s first love.
Meanwhile, Na In Woo and Bae In Hyuk are set to portray friends of the lead love pairing.
Helming the project is director Seo Eun-young, a next-generation film director who was invited to Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival for the movie Confession.
Backing up the production is Gogo Studio whose works include Netflix film, The 8th Night. The production company is also prepping up for the release of movie Highway Family and web drama Bon Appetit.
