Netflix has officially confirmed that Better Late Than Single, the hit dating makeover reality series, is returning for a highly anticipated second season.
The show has captured hearts with its unique premise: following lifelong singles — known in Korea as motae-solos — as they take on one of life’s most daunting yet exciting challenges: experiencing their very first romance.
While most dating reality shows revolve around seasoned flirts or contestants chasing grand finales, Better Late Than Single broke the mold. Season 1 gave audiences something refreshingly different — a chance to watch genuine firsts unfold. From shy eye contact across the dinner table to nervous confessions and sweetly awkward dates, viewers were invited to relive the magic (and nerves) of their own first loves through the cast’s heartfelt journeys.
The response was overwhelming. Viewers praised the series for its warm, empathetic approach to romance and its honest depiction of people bravely stepping into unfamiliar emotional territory. Instead of flashy drama or calculated strategies, what made the show shine were the small, tender moments: a smile that grew into laughter, a hesitation that blossomed into courage, and the quiet but powerful transformations of individuals learning to open their hearts for the first time.
Returning to direct Season 2, Kim Noh-eun expressed gratitude for the show’s impact and excitement for what’s ahead: “Thanks to all the encouragement and support, we’re excited to bring the show back for a second season. We look forward to meeting new singles who are ready to take their first brave steps into love.”
With the renewal now official, anticipation is running high. Who will be the next cast of motae-solos? How will they navigate the exhilarating, unpredictable world of first crushes, first dates, and maybe even first heartbreaks? One thing is certain: as these new singles step into the spotlight, audiences everywhere will once again be reminded of the universal beauty of falling in love for the very first time.
