The Toji Cultural Foundation appointed the multi-talented actor as a publicity ambassador for the Park Kyong-ni Literary Award which celebrated its 11th anniversary this year.
Additionally, the appointment ceremony was held on August 30.
The Park Kyong-ni Literary Award, co-hosted by the Toji Cultural Foundation and the city of Wonju is organized by the Toji Cultural Foundation. Sponsored by the Hyupseong Cultural Foundation, it is a literary award established in 2011 after esteemed author, Park Kyong-ni to commemorate the writer’s spirit and achievements.
Accordingly, this is the World Artist Award, which selects and awards one writer who has achieved literary achievements and has a lot of influence.
Yoo Jun-sang started his relationship with writer Park Kyong-ni in the 2004 SBS drama “Land” as Kim Gil-sang. At the time of casting, he showed a deep passion for reading the author’s novel. He is an actor who still highly regards the celebrated novelist.
Kim Se-hee, chairman of the Toji Cultural Foundation, said, “We appointed Yoo Jun Sang as the PR ambassador for the Park Kyong-ni Literary Award because he highly appreciated the influence of the actor, who has built up a reputation in the culture and art world through constant creative activities.”
Sharing warm words about the author, Yoo Jun Sang gladly accepts the appointment.
“The teacher I met while playing the role of Gil-sang, Park Kyong-ni, has always remained deep in my mind. I vowed to do anything if I have the chance to thank her someday. But this time, the Toji Cultural Foundation offered me this opportunity so I gladly accept it. I will work hard to promote the Park Kyong-ni Literary Award.”
The Park Kyong-ni Literary Award was established in 2011 and marks its 11th anniversary this year. The Literary Award Ceremony, which was held annually at the Wonju Land Culture Center, has been moved to Seoul this year.
Prior to the awards ceremony on October 13th, there will be a press conference on the 12th, and a celebration performance will be held at the Wonju Baekun Art Hall on the 15th.
