The series started with a single crime, an Apartment Complex Fire which changed the lives of the lead characters, for different reasons and in different ways. This seemingly single case of the past, interrelates with a few more recent criminal cases in a chilling connection that is all waiting to be untangled, even from the start.

He is Psychometric Quick Plot Recap
Lee Ahn (Park Jin Young) tragically loses both parents at a young age, having fallen victim to an Apartment Complex Fire. He started to acquire and develop psychometric powers after the incident, thus being able to see the past of an object or a person once he touches it. The only one whom he cannot read is his guardian, foster brother and life savior, Kang Seong Mo (Kim Kwon).
Yoon Jae In (Shin Ye Eun) has secrets of her own, also connected to the same case. Later on, she, along with Police Investigator Eun Ji Soo (Kim Da Som) will join forces with the brothers on finding more about the case which has been haunting their lives all along.

Seong Mo’s childhood
Seong Mo has a lot of clashing traits, at least when we compare how he is usually like to the world versus how he is like with Lee An. These clashing traits are just the tip of the iceberg, especially once his family background and childhood memories started to surface in the series.
Ji Soo’s Death (and the aftermath)
If there is one line from Lee An that I wholeheartedly agree with, it is when he said that “ Jisoo noona has always been warm.” Ji Soo is a bright ray of sunshine when things are getting bleak on some episodes, she is clever, funny, fully dedicated to the causes that she believes in.
But just like how sunshine has to give in to the night, Ji Soo’s demise is the last straw for the usually calm, calculative, and hard-to-read Kang Seong Mo. It also gave way to Jisoo’s father’s full cooperation in exposing the things that he has been hiding all along. Not that it made Jisoo’s death, less cruel, even if it has served its’ purpose plot-wise.
Lee An and Jae In’s Road to Recovery and Healing
It is fair to say that the circumstances have robbed Lee An and Jae In’s childhood. Seeing them having a more normal life in the end, openly supporting each other and being a couple, somehow eases the discomfort of seeing both of them suffer so much in their younger years.
He Is Psychometric Series Musings
It was extremely difficult to finish the series, especially after Ji Soo’s death. Those who have experienced watching their favorite drama character die on a series can probably relate.
Aside from it being cruel, abrupt, and totally surprising, I was actually scared of how Seong Mo will go downhill, witnessing how that one girl he tried his best to distance himself with so that he can protect her, was killed, in front of him.
Still, I’m thankful that I had the courage to watch the remaining episodes, the bittersweet ending is realistic ( bittersweet for the brothers, sweet for the lead couple).

He is Psychometric took its viewers on an emotion-filled ride and it was fun to watch. Questions were answered, however, instead of feeling relieved as the truth came out, old wounds reopened, and painful memories resurfaced.
It is a drama not without faults. But it was one of the dramas this year that I truly enjoyed. Sure, the ending and the way the drama connected its plot points may have been unsatisfactory to some, but I am quite satisfied with it. The people who manipulated the investigation of the apartment fire have their reckoning.
Kang Sung Mo got his punishment but with some leniency. This is due to his condition and because he committed the crime as a minor. Kang Geun Taek, for all his craziness, deserved the sentence handed out to him. Lee An and Jae In, thankfully, were able to move on from their tragic past and are ready to move forward.
People have to live through bad experiences and traumatic incidents as a part of life. We may have to go through it in various manners, but the pain is still the same. It really does not matter whether it happened during childhood or as an adult, only one thing is certain – the scars don’t heal easily. Some learned to accept their dark past would not go away and wear it like armor. There are those who pretend everything is okay even though they are not. There are also individuals who became the very monster they feared their entire lives.
He is Psychometric, beyond its supernatural/fantasy aspect, is really about the stories of people shaken by a tragic past and the choices they made that greatly influenced their present, and somehow, their futures as well. Just like the painting’s message in Lee An’s room, we should all learn from our past and must conduct ourselves properly in the present so we don’t destroy our future. Message well-received.
